Hollywood filmmaker’s now into Marathi film production PARTU

The horizon of the Marathi film industry is expanding very rapidly, as evidenced by several corporate production houses eager to make the financial investment into Marathi films. Amid all of these, a fascinating development has taken place that should make the entire Marathi film industry proud of itself. The Marathi film sector, which has become famous even in Bollywood, for its content-rich stories, melodious music, beautifully smooth acting talent and impressive presentation, has attracted the attention of Hollywood film-makers. A renowned Production Company ‘East West Films’, have stepped into the Marathi film arena, undertaking the production of a film entitled ‘Partu’. Recently, the shooting of this film was completed in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

           

            Several distinguished artists like KishorKadam, SmitaTambe, SaurabhGokhale, GayatriDeshmukh, AnshumanVichare, NavniParihar, Raja Bundela, and Ravi Bhartiya were cast in leading roles in the film along with YashPandey, who has played the role of a child artist many times along side the like of Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan. Non resident Indian Director NitinAdsul from the US, directed the film ‘Partu’. The unique story of the film was composed by Clark McMillian, NitinAdsul and Darrel Cox and the Marathi dialogues were written by MayurDewal. Audiences will be able to witness a unique sequence of life changing events of the aforementioned characters between the years of 1968 and 1985.

‘EastWest Films’is a highly reputable multi-media company from the US and it holds a widely acclaimed position in the areas of production, distribution, web media and television. Three friends NitinAdsul, Clark McMillian and Darrel Cox incorporated the company seven years ago in the United States. Before the production of the Marathi feature film ‘Partu’, they produced several films: ‘The Victory Experience’, ‘Miss Utility’, ‘Prayer Life’, ‘Kundalini’and ‘Together Forever’, to name a few, which have won many distinct awards in international film festivals. They took the initiative of producing this film entitled ‘Partu’after being inspired by the real life events of producer, NitinAdsul’s family. Filming took place in various locations throughout Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Marathi films are normally shot inside a studio, but considering the theme of the film, shooting was completed at several challenging locations. One in particular was some 68 km to the city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan. In particular there have been shot in the desert. The awesome expanse of different locations and their diversity will definitely prove to be a charming experience for Marathi audiences.

Sanjay Khanzode was the cinematographer of this film and ShashankPowar was asked to compose songs that captured the film’s spirit. Distinguished singer Shankar Mahadevan sung the film’s theme song. Greg Sims from Hollywood will be making the background score of the film. NitinAdsul, SachinAdsul, RupeshMahajan, Darrel Cox and Clark McMillian are the Executive Producers of this ambitious film. No doubt, the curiosity of‘Partu’being produced by a Hollywood-based production company, using entirely ultra-modern American production techniques, have peaked the interest of many, but to see it, viewers will have to wait until the film’s release.

'इस्ट वेस्ट फिल्म्स' कंपनीचा पहिला चित्रपट मराठीत  

मराठी चित्रपट वेगाने विस्तारत असून अनेक कॉर्पोरेटस मराठी सिनेमात आर्थिक गुंतवणूक करण्यासाठी उत्सुक दिसताहेत. या साऱ्यात समस्त मराठी सिनेसृष्टीला अभिमान वाटावा अशी गोष्ट घडलीय ती म्हणजे, आशयघन विषय, उत्तम संगीत, सहजसुंदर अभिनय, प्रभावी सादरीकरणाने बॉलीवूडचे लक्ष वेधणाऱ्या मराठी चित्रपटाने यावेळी चक्क हॉलीवूड सिनेसृष्टीला आकर्षित केलंय. हॉलीवूडची 'इस्ट वेस्ट फिल्म्स' ही नामांकित कंपनी 'परतू' या चित्रपटाच्या माध्यमातून मराठी चित्रपटाच्या निर्मितीत उतरली आहे. गेली अनेक वर्ष अमेरिकेत वास्तव्यास असणारे दिग्दर्शक नितीन अडसूळ यांनी 'परतू' चित्रपटाचे दिग्दर्शन केले असून महाराष्ट्र व राजस्थान मध्ये नुकतेच चित्रपटाचे चित्रीकरण पूर्ण झाले आहे.  

किशोर कदम, स्मिता तांबे, सौरभ गोखले, गायत्री देशमुख, अंशुमन विचारे, नवनी परिहार, राजा बुंदेला आणि आणि रवी भारतीय अशा दिग्गज कलाकारांच्या 'परतू' सिनेमात महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका आहेत. चित्रपटात बालकलाकाराची भूमिका यश पांडे याने साकारली असून यापूर्वी त्याने बॉलीवूडमध्ये अमिताभ बच्चन, शाहरुख खान व आमीर खान यांसारख्या दिग्गजांसोबत देखील काम केलंय. या चित्रपटाची वेगळ्या धाटणीची कथा क्लार्क मॅक मिलिअन, नितीन अडसूळ व डेरेल कॉक्स यांनी लिहिली असून याचे मराठी संवाद लेखन मयुर देवल यांनी केलंय. 'परतू' चित्रपटात १९६८ ते १९८५ दरम्यानचा काळ रेखाटण्यात आला असून प्रेक्षकांना वेगळ्या धाटणीचा कथाविषय या निमित्ताने पहाता येणार आहे. 

'इस्ट वेस्ट फिल्म्स' ही अमेरिकेतील नामांकित मल्टीमिडिया कंपनी असून निर्मिती, वितरण, वेब मिडिया, टेलीव्हिजन अशा विविध माध्यमांतून या कंपनीचा नावलौकिक आहे. नितीन अडसूळ, क्लार्क मॅक मिलिअन व डेरेल कॉक्स या तीन मित्रांनी एकत्रीत येऊन सात वर्षांपूर्वी अमेरीकेत या कंपनीची स्थापना केली.  'परतू' चित्रपटाआधी 'द व्हिक्टरी एक्स्पीरियंस', 'मिस युटीलिटी' याचबरोबर आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवांत पुरस्कारप्राप्त 'प्रेअर लाइफ', 'कुंडलिनी' व 'टुगेदर फॉरेव्हर' या चित्रपटांची अमेरीकेत यशस्वी निर्मिती केली. 'परतू' चित्रपटाचा सत्य घटनेवर आधारीत कथा विषय आवडल्याने त्यांनी मराठीत या सिनेमाची निर्मिती करण्यासाठी पुढाकार घेतला असून महाराष्ट्र व राजस्थान दोन राज्यात याचे चित्रीकरण करण्यात आले आहे. मराठी सिनेमा बऱ्याचदा स्टुडीओमध्ये चित्रीत केला जातो, पण 'परतू' सिनेमासाठी कथानकाचा विचार करून, आव्हानात्मक लोकेशनवर वास्तवदर्शी चित्रीकरण करण्यात आले आहे. यासाठी राजस्थानमधील जोधपूर शहरात ६८ किमी. आत वाळवंटात चित्रीकरण करण्यात आलंय हे विशेष. चित्रपट पाहताना लोकेशनमधील वैविध्य आणि भव्यता प्रेक्षकांना नक्कीच सुखावणारी ठरणार आहे. 

संजय खानझोडे यांनी चित्रपटाचे छायाचित्रण केले असून संगीतकार शशांक पोवार यांनी चित्रपटाला साजेशी संगीताची साथ दिली आहे. सुप्रसिद्ध गायक शंकर महादेवन यांनी 'परतू' चित्रपटाचे थीम सॉंग गायले असून ग्रेग सिम्स या हॉलीवूडमधील प्रसिद्ध संगीत संयोजकाने 'परतू'ला पार्श्वसंगीत दिले आहे.  चित्रपटाचे कार्यकारी निर्माते म्हणून नितीन अडसूळ, सचिन अडसूळ, रुपेश महाजन, डेरेल कॉक्स, क्लार्क मॅक मिलिअन हे काम पहात आहेत. अमेरीकेतील 'इस्ट वेस्ट फिल्म्स' निर्मिती संस्थेचा, संपूर्णतः अमेरीकन अत्याधुनिक तंत्राचा वापर करून तयार केलेला 'परतू' हा मराठी चित्रपट कसा असणार याची उत्सुकता एव्हाना वाढली असेल, पण त्यासाठी चित्रपट प्रदर्शित होण्याचीच वाट पहावी लागेल.
