ZTE launches new Smartphone and Data Card portfolio for its Indian customers
The new range offers differentiated customer experience and features for Indian handset users

19 July 2013, Mumbai, India – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, today launched six new smartphone and four new data card devices for its Indian customers. ZTE is the fourth largest mobile handset manufacturer globally, meeting global standards and delighting the customers with the innovative and feature rich portfolio ranging from entry level to high end smartphones.

Speaking on the launch Mr. Xu Dejun, CEO, ZTE India said, “ZTE is the leading global OEM supplier and has emerged as the trusted partner of choice for the Indian operators. Today ZTE enjoy a customer base of over 32 million Indian handset users and this widespread acceptance is a testimony to our differentiated and rich product portfolio, which is backed by a strong service and support network. India is a key growth market for us and with the foray in the open smartphone market we are sure to offer an enhanced mobility experience to our Indian customers, further strengthening the brand ZTE. Each smartphone device has been introduced keeping in mind the unique needs of the Indian customers. With the initial launch of six devices priced between Rs. 5,000 and Rs, 15,000, we will build further on our handset portfolio in the months to come. By the year end, we aim to have our pan India presence with the smartphones and data cards.”

The company has signed a strategic partnership with Pune based Calyx Telecommunications for a sustained pan India presence with the new Smartphone portfolio and with Digilife for Data Cards.

All the six smartphone models launched here on Friday – ZTE Grand X priced at 14,999, ZTE Blade G2 priced at Rs. 11,599, ZTE Blade C (Dual SIM – 3G) priced at Rs. 7,599, ZTE Blade L priced at Rs. 12599, ZTE Kis Flex (Dual SIM) priced at Rs. 5,799 and ZTE Blade E priced at Rs. 11,999, run on Google’s Android operating system. The smartphones comes with 512MB internal storage, and varying screen size, processor speeds, camera and other features to meet the unique needs of a broad customer base.
ZTE Grand X
The ZTE Grand X features a brilliant 5 inch HD display with other excellent features. The smartphone comes with a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB DDR SDRAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Along with this the device can be upgraded to 32 GB of memory with the use of memory cards. The 5 inch display of Grand X has a resolution of 5 + 0.3 Mega pixels dual Camera.

The company announced that it will soon introduce the premium range of smartphones in India for its elite customer segment. Many of the upcoming launches will be inspired by company’s rich global smartphone portfolio which ranges from affordable through high-end smartphones.

The Swift series of 3G datacards launched on Friday come in four variants comprising of Swift (7.2Mbps with Voice Call) priced at Rs. 1799, Swift Plus (14.4Mbps) priced at Rs. 1999, Swift WPlus (14.4Mbps with Wifi) priced at Rs. 2250 and Swift Speed (21.6Mbps with Voice Call) priced at Rs. 2499.

Mr. Sunil Somani

The success saga of CALYX associates has been scripted largely, through single-minded efforts of Mr. Sunil Somani. Being born into a family of cloth merchants, Mr. Somani had immense respect for his ancestral business but he always had a burning desire to chart his own course. Dr. Gaurav Somani is the elder son of Sunil Somani, bearer of this distinguished legacy of CALYX. From, an early age he was enamoured by the charms of the construction Industry. He completed his formal education and his graduation (commerce) in Pune and later on he added Diploma and Post graduate degrees in Management to his academic credentials. Currently, he has completed the prestigious Doctorate or (Ph.D) in Operational Management. He plunged into the real estate business in 2006, and has been a pillar of support to his father. He has infused a fresh breath of air in the organization, by his electrifying management abilities and dynamic man-management.

Dr. Gaurav believes that at the heart of any architectural marvel, is nothing but an elusive balance of prudent engineering and practical design, while he ceaselessly endeavours to strike that right chord between engineering and aesthetics to compose splendid structures. He has implemented innovative practices internally by streamlining operations and externally, by initiating modern techniques & equipments in the realty sector.

As a person, he is the alter-ego of his father, unlike the ice-cool demeanour of his father, he is a live-wire, always on the go, full of energy with starry ambitions.

Xu Dejun,

Xu Dejun is the Chief Executive Officer of ZTE India, providing leadership and oversight to ZTE’s business operations in India.

Prior to his current role as India CEO, he held a variety of roles in ZTE, He was head of international projects in Africa, head of technical sales for ZTE India and senior vice president of ZTE Indian Engineering Service Centre.With an experience of over 22 years in telecommunications technology and market developmentMr Xu has a major role in making ZTE a global company.

Mr Xu started his career at ZTE in Shenzhen in 2001 as Engineer and was promoted to the ZTE Africa Sales Office in May 2002, where he oversaw marketing and business development for international projects. In the year 2005 Mr. Xu came to India with a vision to steer ahead the company’s operations across

Mr. Yuan Kang
Vice President, Terminal, ZTE India

Yuan Kang is the Vice President, Terminal, ZTE India, overseeing the entire terminal business for India.

Prior to working with ZTE he was in Inventec, which is a Taiwan company as a marketing director.

He joined ZTE Corporation in 2008 as an account manager for major accounts like Airtel and MTS. He was instrumental in successful supervision and execution of critical projects like _2G/ 3G handsets and data card, wimax and LTE. In 2010, Mr. Yuan Kang was appointed as Director for terminal business vertical for ZTE India. In this role Yuan is responsible for driving channel and operators sales and profitability. Under his supervision and leadership, ZTE has captured the data card market share in India and emerged as the leading data card vendor in the country.

 In 2013 he was appointed as Vice President, Terminals, ZTE India spearheading ZTE’s data card entry in the open market.

Mr Kang holds Master degree in Law from Maryland University.
