CELEBRATIONS OF NATIONAL POSTAL WEEK’ 2021 and ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV’ from 9th-16th OCTOBER, 2021: Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai – 400 001
The World Post Day marks the Anniversary of the establishment of Universal Postal Union, headquarter at Bern and is held on 9th October of every year. Department of Posts celebrated National Postal week 2021 (NPW) and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) from 9th October, 2021 to 16th October, 2021. Shri H.C. Agrawal, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, held a Press Conference today on 18.10.2021 at 16.00 hrs and gave detailed presentation about activities conducted during NPW and performance on Maharashtra Circle on various Postal Products. Following activities con Maharashtra Postal Circle during the NPW & AKAM:
1. Banking Day on 11.10.2021:
Financial Inclusion Melas were arranged at 254 locations.
49,690 POSB accounts and 16,139 SSA accounts opened on Banking day.
2. PLI Day on 12.10.21
17631 PLI and RPLI Policies procured in Maharashtra Circle on PLI Day (Target – 12500)
More than 1.39 lakh policies procured all over India on PLI Day
633 melas were conducted on the day across Maharashtra and Goa (Target – 500)
Several uninsured people brought under the net of insurance (Special drives also being conducted twice a month to increase the insurance coverage)
3. Philately Day on 13.10.2021
Philatelic exhibition on ‘Journey of India @75’ through Postage Stamps is put up on display at Circle Office on 13th October 2021. Progress of India since 1947 to 2021 is shown through Postage Stamps.
20 Philately Seminar/Quiz/Competition conducted.

Released Special Covers on Umaji Naik (Pune), Purushottam Kakodkar (Goa), Mohan Ranade (Goa) and Maniben Patel (Mumbai) the Unsung Heroes of Maharashtra,
4. BD Day on 14.10.2021
385 Special Camps / Melas arranged and 15,389 Aadhaar transactions has been done.
5. Mails Day on 16.10.2021
Customer Meet held by respective units to make customers aware of the new initiatives of India Post and feedback was taken to address their issues.
Documentary of India’s 75th Year of Independence Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was displayed.
“Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” boards were displayed at prominent places.
