- Making upGrad a part of the Government’s Skill India Programme -
Mumbai, November 5, 2019: In line with the 'SKILL INDIA MISSION' launched by the
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to train over 40 crore people in
India by 2022, National Skill Development Corporation extended accreditation to
upGrad, making it a part of Government’s Skill India initiative.
Through this association, the mission aims at providing
vocational training and certification facilities for the Indian youth with a
focus on job opportunity creation. Through this partnership, upGrad commits to
train and place 32,000 learners in the course for the next three years, in the
sectors of IT/ITES, BFSI and Management among others.
upGrad Co-founder and MD, Mayank Kumar said, “We are pleased to gain
accreditation by the NSDC which aims at promoting skill development and
enhancing private sector initiatives. Through this association, we look forward
to upskilling the talent pool and preparing them for a better tomorrow. As a
