Parzor Foundation and Madison BMB With Bombay Parsi Punchayat, TISS, Mumbai and Federation of Zoroastrian Anjumans of India launch the JIYO PARSI Campaign - Phase -II

29thJuly 2017, Mumbai: The Parzor Foundation and Madison BMB along with Bombay Parsi Panchayat, TISS, Mumbai and Federation of Zoroastrian Anjumans of India today launched the “Jiyo Parsi”                Phase-II campaign.
The Hon'ble Minister for Minority Affairs Shri. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi presided over a gathering of eminent personalities and released the campaign. Also present on the occasion was the Consul General of Iran, H.E. Masood E Khaleghi  and renowned actress Parizad Kolah Marshall who both spoke on the importance of the Launch and Programme.
The Jiyo Parsi Scheme launched on 24th September 2013 is unique, not only in India but to the world.
What is Jiyo Parsi?
The Jiyo Parsi Scheme is initiated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), Government of India, to reverse the decline in the Parsi population by adopting scientific medical protocols and structured interventions, to stabilize and increase the population of Parsis in India.
The Parzor Foundation along with other Parsi organizations and many reputed doctors across India is working to spread awareness on the sociological, psychological and medical issues which have led to the critical decline in numbers, to make Parsis benefit from the huge advances in ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) available today.
As India’s population more than tripled in over 60 years, the number of Parsis has reduced by almost 50% and is now less than 57,264 (Census 2011).
This is the First Time in the World that an intervention is being attempted to bring an urban, educated community back from the brink of Demographic extinction.  Between September 2013 and today, 101 babies (for Parsis, a blessed number), have been born under the scheme and for many more couples, the Scheme has been 'Truly a Miracle', 'Our Silver Lining', 'At the End of Every Tunnel there is Light'. With the full support of the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), Jiyo Parsi been able to turn despair into delight. 'Jiyo Parsi appeared in our lives as a ray of hope....., the Jiyo Parsi Counsellor gave us the courage to try one more time, with God's blessing we are parents of an energetic baby today'.
These Testimonials are only one part of the story. From infertility to grand-parenting, Jiyo Parsi has become a Movement to bring back the happiness of family, a faith in the future and a firm belief in the resilience of the Parsi Zoroastrian community. We can proudly say that even children declare 'Jiyo Parsi'.
Says  Dr. Shernaz Cama, the prime mover of the scheme, “As we enter our next Phase, we look ahead to carry the community with us, old and young, to think outside the box and be the pioneers in reviving a community; let us know that every step we take can make a difference.

Whilst Phase-I of the campaign, created by Sam Balsara’s Madison focused on awareness of Jiyo Parsi and sensitizing the community and its youngsters to the issues in a  tone of voice that ensured virability of the campaign, the current Phase-2 consists of 12 ads and is focused more on trying to persuade young Parsis to get married and have children for a better balance to  their own life. Raj Nair, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Madison BMB, the agency behind the creative execution of the campaign says, “After the huge success of the deliberately tongue-in-cheek last print campaign, we have created a new rendition.  We have continued to focus on issues especially relevant and meaningful, like togetherness, the importance of family, that having children is joyful and doesn’t come in the way of life at all, that there is no positive outcome to choosing to be alone and so on. The hope is that the issues touched upon will clearly resonate with young Parsi people in a completely positive manner.” Madison BMB has been involved with the project since inception.

Doctors shortage, lack of smart content a bitter pill for hospital management

Mumbai, July 25, 2017: The lack of smarter content for patients and acute shortage of doctors and specialists is plaguing India’s healthcare delivery, said health experts during The Hospital Management Show held in Mumbai.
The content for patients can be made smarter by providing medically correct, concise, clear and colloquial information, said Dr Rachita Narsaria of Radicure Homoeopathy Clinic. By enabling media tools like smartphone app, emailers/newsletters, handouts and audio books, hospitals can have an added competitive advantage.
Shortage of doctors with a Doctor-Patient ratio of 1:1800 is another issue.  This puts a great burden on healthcare and this gap needs to be bridged.
“This, along with shortage of essential medicines, pose challenges to the country in achieving some crucial health targets,” said Dr. Monica Bhatia, MD, CIMS Medica.
Speaking on GST impact on compliance, Nithyananda Shetty, ‎Director at Deloitte said: “GST will encourage the local manufacturing sector to step into producing products that will be more affordable. The roll out of GST would make the taxation process easier.” Private hospitals, however, said some provisions need to be clarified.
“Dimension of C&F distribution model will change with GST. This will alleviate inter-state transaction and also reduce the supply chain management cost considerably,” said Shyam Sunder Singh, MD, Septalyst Lifesciences.
The event also deliberated on a host of current problems and practical solutions while managing a hospital.
The CIMS Healthcare Excellence Awards felicitated 38 achievers in the healthcare industry including Gluconorm G (Anti-diabetic Brand of the year), Septalyst Lifesciences (Fastest Growing Company of the year in Nephrology), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (Excellence in Patient Centricity), Lupin Diabetes Care (Diabetes Drug Portfolio of the year), Asian Cancer Institute (Best Hospital Unit in Oncology), Shakam Lifesciences (Fastest Growing Company  in Orthopedic Segment), Glenmark Division (Innovative Digital Marketing Campaign of the year),  D Y Patil Hospital (Best Hospital unit in Trauma & Emergency Care), Surya Childrens Medicare (Best Hospital unit in Pediatric Care), Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (Hospital with Largest NICU) and Dr Mohsin Wali (Lifetime Excellence Award) amongst others.

Thane emerges as best destination for home buyers among MMR

Thane is fast scoring over Mumbai and other parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) by becoming the first choice for home buyers.

There are multiple factors that are helping Thane to score over Mumbai and other parts of MMR.  Thane’s strategic location, realistic property prices, rapid infrastructure development and availability of land for housing, have helped Thane emerged as the ideal residential location that suits the new-age home buyers.

The top ranking of Thane among home buyers has been backed up by the recent study by Knight Frank India Limited. In its recent report, the well-known real estate consultancy firm stated that Thane has become popular among the rich looking to buy a property. In its wealth report, Thane is one of the 20 cities across the world, where the rich are currently looking forward to invest their wealth.
Real Estate experts believe that Thane has evolved phenomenally over the last few years, as a residential market. This has prompted people from Mumbai to shift to Thane, in search of homes that are competitively priced, offer good amenities, more open spaces and greenery.
Compared to Mumbai, people can get bigger houses with all the modern amenities in place. As far as investors are concerned, they get far better returns compared to the Mumbai realty market. The proposed Metro to Thane has also pushed up demand for the place.
Thane had several factories and industrial units which subsequently closed down to make way for real estate projects. Many information technology (IT) companies have also shifted their offices to Thane that is turning the city into a service and tech hub.
In recent times, various well-known developers such as Godrej Properties, Hiranandani Constructions, Kalpataru Group, Runwal Builders, Rustomjee, Piramal Realty and Puranik Builders have all started projects in this city.
Areas like Ghodbunder Road, Majiwada and Kasarvadavali which boast of good schools, premium malls and good healthcare facilities are in demand.
Thane is well-connected to the central and western suburbs via Ghodbunder Road and to Gujarat via the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway through Dahisar Check Naka. It is also connected to Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Navi Mumbai via the Thane-Belapur Road and to Mumbai city via the Eastern Express Highway, and the Eastern Freeway.

Thane has become an affordable and preferred realty market, owing to the continuous improvement in infrastructure, and factors such as rapid infrastructure development, seamless connectivity to Mumbai, emergence of new business hubs and opening up of new land parcels are encouraging home buyers and investors to buy property in Thane.
