The Indian Cat Federation (ICF) & the World Cat Federation (WCF)

announces the 5th WHISKAS® International Cat Show of India in association with Mars India and the Bombay Veterinary College.


Mumbai, October 11, 2015: The Indian Cat Federation (ICF) and the World Cat Federation (WCF), today announced the 5th WHISKAS® International Cat Show of India in association with Mars India – leading pet food manufacturers and marketers of the international pet food brands Whiskas® and Pedigree®, and the Bombay Veterinary College.
Felines from various states of India will be vying for various titles including BEST in SHOW at the Whiskas® 5th International Cat Show of India, to be held on the 11th of October at Hall II B, Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Western Express Highway, Goregaon.
The show is being organised by the Indian Cat Federation (ICF) in association with the World Cat Federation (WCF) Germany. This international cat show aims at placing India on the World Cat Show map at par with other nations of the world.

Mr. Shree Nair, President, Indian Cat Federation (ICF) said, “Having built on the success of the last four International Cat shows of India, we are delighted with the large turnout of registrations this year. The highlight of the event will be the presentation of Awards for Best in Show and Best in various categories. Winners will receive Trophies, Certificates and prizes. In addition to this years show, we are also bringing together the city’s veterinarians for a seminar on Cat Genetics.”

We need every single Indian to participate in saving the cat breed from the Indian streets by urging people to adopt cats. We strongly believe in cage-free homes. “We want to make ICF certification a must for every cat,” he added.
Mr. Nair also informed that a few slots are still open for registrations, and that the cats will be judged by a panel of International judges. Participants will receive certificates from the WCF for the Cat’s original breed and points for Championships.




The World Cat Federation Officials & Judges attending the show are:

Mr. Anthony Aldum, South Africa (All Breeds Judge – WCF), World Cat Federation

Entry for all visitors is free from 1 pm onwards, and the show will provide a great family outing, as one can see a variety of Cat breeds and pet products. There will also be a Specialist Veterinary Team from the Bombay Veterinary College to advise you on Pet issues.

Owners can register their Cats by contacting the ICF team. They can also register their cats at the venue on the day of the show between 9 am and 10 am on a first-come basis subject to slots still being available, as the total number of entries is limited to 100 cats. Owners must familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations regarding vaccinations and veterinary procedures listed on the ICF website – www.indiancatfederation.org, as strict procedures are followed regarding the entry of cats.

About the World Cat Federation (WCF)
The World Cat Federation (WCF) was founded on 1988 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by three clubs, and now the WCF consists of more than 540 clubs throughout the world covering all continents including the United States. The WCF is registered in Germany as "eingetragener Verein" (registered association), and also in Brussels as a European Federation.
The WCF takes part in consultations, arranged by the European parliament in Strasbourg, and is responsible for animal welfare and legislation in some working parties and hearings. A WCF member, whether it is a club or a federation, is independent in his or her business.
