Mumbai, September 15, 2015: Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India (SBI) inaugurated SBI’s official pages on two new social media platforms, Pinterest and Instagram to connect and reach out to its valued customers. The function was also graced by the senior management of SBI, comprising of MDs, DMDs and CGMs.
Pinterest is a visual bookmarking tool wherein users can upload, save, sort and manage images knows as pins through collections known as pinboards. Pinterest has 72.8 million users worldwide. India (13%) has the third largest user base of the site after USA (32%) and China (14%).
Instagram is an online mobile photo/video-sharing social networking service. It enables its users to share photos and videos with their followers. It has over 150 million active users and 40 million photos are uploaded per day.
SBI will use these platforms to promote and popularise its various products and services and appeal to the aspirations of the young and digital India.
