DuPont Packaging Awards become a catalyst for inspiring future innovations
Godrej, Uflex and Parakh Agro are recent winners from India

September 16, 2015, New Delhi: DuPont is strengthening its Packaging & Industrial Polymers business in India to address the growing needs of the rapidly expanding Indian packaging market. DuPont highlighted leading industry innovations with the recent winners of the DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation. Instituted 27 years ago by DuPont, these awards are the industry’s longest-running, global, independently judged recognition of innovation and collaboration throughout the value chain in the packaging industry.
Parakh Agro had won a gold award for Responsible Packaging and Enhanced User Experience in 2014.  For the first time in India, they introduced a Film Pouch for UHT (ultrahigh temperature processed) milk that has a shelf life of 90 days.
“This solution will change the lives of many people in the remote areas and significantly reduce the amount of milk that is spoiled during transportation.” said Vinay Nalawade, Director, Packaging Business, Parakh Agro.
Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. & Classy Kontainers were honored this year for excellence in enhanced user experience.  The conditioner container from Godrej for BBLUNT, a chain of salons combines functionality with aesthetics for easy dispensation.
           Sunil Kataria, Business Head, India & SAARC, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, commented, “We wanted our first hair care product line at the salon  to convey the essence of the premium BBLUNT brand through its bold shape and shine. We are happy that this product line has gained appreciation for its superior look, feel and convenience.”
Ultratech Cement, part of the Aditya Birla Group & UFLEX ltd were honored in 2015 for excellence in technological advancement in the Indian cement industry for developing a Flex SafePack, a moisture proof bag specially designed to keep away moisture and water from entering into the bag. It helps cement withstand harsh environmental conditions.
Commenting on the award, Amit Ray, Group President – Flexible Packaging Division & Allied Businesses, UFLEX said, “This award recognizes our continued commitment towards innovation and value addition. I would like to congratulate the entire team for developing such a revolutionary product that solves a serious challenge being faced by the cement industry.”
