Top names vie for Usha IGU All-India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship 2014



BENGALURU: The cream of golfing talent in the Ladies and Girls sections in India will be seen in action in the season-ending Usha IGU All-India Ladies and Juniors Girls Golf Championship 2014, to be contested at the picturesque Eagleton Golf Resort at Bengaluru from Tuesday, December 16.

As many as 41 golfers will be in action in the Ladies section for the event, which boasts both the Strokeplay and Matchplay formats. Local talent Aditi Ashok, who won the Usha Eastern India event in Kolkata, is back in action after missing out on the Western India, which was won by Gaurika Bishnoi, who too will be contesting here.

The final of the event will be played over 36 holes.

Among the other contestants will by the consistent Ridhima Dilawari. Sifat Sagoo, Seher Atwal and Anisha Padukone.

The Junior Girls line-up has 12 golfers, including Anika Varma and Jahanvi Bakshi, who were involved in quite a contest at the Western India event in Pune, ending up tied at the end of the three rounds before Anika won the play-off.

The promising Tanisha Kumar and Vasundhara Thiara will also be in the fray.

Tee-off is at 7.30 in the morning on December 16.
