adventure and premium bike makers organized the Virar - Vajreshwari - Ambadi
Naka Cycle tour "Monsoon Ride - 70 KM" on Sunday, August 3rd, 2014. The leisure ride was organized
for all riding enthusiasts to inculcate a cycling community culture and enjoy
the advent of Mumbai monsoons. The event was successfully hosted by Mr. Kaitan
Lopes, Franchisee Owner of Firefox Bikes at Vasai-Virar and was supported by
Firefox Bikes Pvt. Ltd.
The ride saw 50 Firefox and Trek Cycle
users participation in the first of its kind initiative in the area. The event started
early in the morning and witnessed the participation of senior riders in the
age group of 50-60. The event highlighted the need for personal safety
ownership of individual riders, need for adequate riding gears to enjoy the
adrenaline rush.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shiv Inder Singh Managing Director,
Firefox Bikes Pvt Ltd, said, “The ride is organised over an extremely
scenic 70-km stretch consisting of urbanised areas and a green zone. This is an
attempt on the part of Firefox Bikes to encourage patrons to see the pleasure
in riding and to take it up as a regular activity or a means to commute. Through
such initiatives, we want to create a community that takes pride and joy in
turning to bicycling over other means of transport.”
To ensure all riders completed the 70-km journey
comfortably, the event availed the participants with support vehicles, support
aid for all riders, refreshments and first- aid.
Earlier this year, Firefox Bikes organised the
Tour De Vasai, a 50-km cycle ride to
celebrate World Environment Day. The company also organises short weekend
cycling trips and intends to host shorts rides for young children during the Diwali
vacations.
