CLOUDSEC 2014 addresses The
Internet of Everything And its Key Security Issues
Annual security conference gathers global and
regional experts to share their thoughts on navigating the future landscape of
an Internet-Connected society
Mumbai, August 23, 2014 –CLOUDSEC, one of the leading
internet security conferences in Asia Pacific, kicks off its fourth annual edition
this year with the theme “The Internet SECURITY
of Everything”. Bringing together the world’s top experts in information
security, CLOUDSEC 2014 promises to address security issues around one of the
most pervasive trends of this decade: The Internet of Everything (IoE), where
smart devices, personal clouds, wearable technology, big data and networking
are connected to the Internet and each other. Through debate and shared learning, CLOUDSEC 2014 aims to
inspire IT professionals and business leaders to navigate the future – a
networked society that’s constantly connected through the internet.
Hosted
by Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704;
TSE:4704), CLOUDSEC 2014 will discuss
how enterprises can understand the challenges and current strategies of
securing the IoE that occur both today and in the future. CLOUDSEC’s attendees
will also get to hear the experts’ thoughts on security solutions which can be
implemented today in order to fully harness the power of IoE for organisations
and enterprises.
Highlights
At
CLOUDSEC 2014, attendees will join in the discussion around the concepts and
technologies surrounding the Internet of Everything as we attempt to define the
major components of the IoE ecosystem such as internet-connected devices,
applications and cloud computing. We will also examine the business impact that
the IoE brings, and how enterprises can harness the potential of IoE to boost
their bottom line. Drawing the line back to security, CLOUDSEC speakers will
then dive into the various aspects of how enterprises can secure their IoE
ecosystem in order to reap the benefits from it, with the goal of ensuring that
attendees have a clear picture of how they can devise security strategies for
the IoE by the end of the conference.
The
sessions – consisting of keynotes, panel discussions, breakout tracks,
workshops and tutorials – will feature global
and regional experts in the areas ofadvanced persistent threats, big data
security, cybercrime and forensics, cloud security, data privacy and
protection, virtualisation and software definedsecurity, amongst others. In
covering the key infrastructure components of the IoE and the other aspects of
enterprise IT, the conference sessions will give attendees a clear idea of how
to align responsibilities for securing the IoE across each segment of their
organisation and what are the areas which need critical attention.
Distinguished Speakers:
•
Rik Ferguson - Global VP of Security Research,
Trend Micro will share insights on Securing the Internet of Everything
• Ken Low,
Executive Director, CLOUDSEC 2014.
“The
pace of change in the technology sector has never been as rapid as it is now,
and as a result we see organisations struggle to keep up with the latest
developments,” said Ken Low, Executive Director, CLOUDSEC 2014. “In the
Internet of Everything, information security will come under further scrutiny
as its role becomes even more crucial in supporting digital enterprises. This
makes a conference platform like CLOUDSEC valuable, for it brings together the
industry’s best security experts for a constructive dialogue and debate which
will help shape the approach we take to secure the IoE. We look forward to an
immersive and shared learning experience this year.”
“Today
Internet of Everything represents the biggest revolution in information
technology. This wake of tectonic technological shift will come with a wealth
of criminal opportunities. The challenges of responding to this concurrent
exodus and deluge of information will dwarf the current challenges raised by
consumerisation. We must operate with one eye on the future attempting to
anticipate not only the business advantage but also the potential pitfalls of
new technology as it emerges; understanding as to how to secure the IoE,” said Rik
Ferguson - Global VP of Security Research, Trend Micro.
“Time
and again India has emerged as one of the top countries witnessing cybercrime.
Along with the rise in technological penetration and advancement, the country
needs to understand the need to secure the internet of things. As we move ahead
in our quest to secure users’ journey to the cloud, we ensure that with
superior products, they also get most up to date information on the prevalent
malicious activities and constantly rising cybercrimes,” said DhanyaThakkar, Managing
Director, South East Asia &India, Trend Micro
