ICAI to hold campus placements in Mumbai
Expects strong demand for newly qualified CAs from Indian Corporates

Mumbai, 28th February, 2014 – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the statutory body for regulation of Chartered Accountants in the country, will hold its campus placement programme from 10th to 15th March, 2014. In Mumbai, 910 candidates, who have recently qualified as Chartered Accountants, are likely to be present in the campus placement programme.

Some of the leading corporates in the country, namely - Alstom Projects India, Axis Bank, Cipla, Credit Guarantee Fund Trust For Micro And Small Enterprises, Deutsche CIB Centre, Galaxy Surfactants, JM Financial, Jet Airways, L&T, Pidilite Industries, Reliance Industries, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Tata Capital, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, Tata Power Company, Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Limited & Vodafone India, have confirmed their participation for the placement programme.

Commenting on the placement drive, CA. Tarun Jamnadas Ghia, Chairman, CMII, said, “This event offers an excellent opportunity to all leading Indian companies looking to recruit the finest minds in the accountancy space. For newly qualified chartered accountants, the campus placement programme provides them an opportunity to commence their professional career on a high note and get associated with some of the biggest Corporates and conglomerates in the country. Like always, we expect a heartening response and participation of Indian corporate sector in this endeavor of our institute.”

ICAI, through its Committee for Members in Industry (CMII), organizes Campus Placement Programme at 16 different locations in the country. The Campus Placement Programme is held twice every year in February-March and August-September.

In 2013, as many as about 120 companies comprises of 220 Interview Panels participated in Campus Placement Programme during both the seasons across the country and as many as about 1600 candidates were offered jobs by leading Indian companies. The companies, which hired Chartered Accountants in 2013, mostly comprised of reputed names from Information Technology, Financial Services, Oil & Gas Refining, Banking, BPO, Telecommunication, Mining, FMCG, Agro industries etc.

In Mumbai, for the 2013 Campus Recruitment Programme, 31 companies participated and 216 Chartered Accountants were recruited.
