Mumbai, January 11, 2013: The sunny evening of 11^th January saw the launch of maverick hair stylist and designer Sapna Bhavnani’s hair salon ‘MAD O WOT Hair Temple’. Located at the heart of Pali Naka, Bandra, Sapna Bhavnani takes the salon experience to a whole new level with this new outlet. International Cricket heartthrob and Team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his presence felt at the launch, posing graciously for the fans and paparazzi alike.

Inspired from the concept of donating a lock of your hair to the Lord Tirupati, Sapna has created hair God Anāan (designed by architect Arjun Rathi), in the form of Ardhnareshwar (half man & half woman), to champion the cause of equality against the backdrop of the gender war that society is facing today. MAD O WOT Hair Temple is all about letting go of your past and moving forward towards new beginnings by offering a cut lock of hair to Anāan and making a wish for all good things in the future. At the launch, Sapna snipped a bit of Mahi’s hair and he was seen offering it to Anāan. For all we know he must have been praying for a successful New Zealand tour for Team India.

According to Sapna, the concept for MAD O WOT Hair Temple has emerged from the poem “Anāan's Ode” as given below:

From where the lands stay unconquered, From where the seas mercilessly swallow secrets,

From where the wind ruthlessly wipes off histories, From where nothing is to be drowned,

Nothing is to be burnt, nothing is to be healed, nothing is to be shunned, Of all the places,

Nothing rusts but the time, Two sides make a third and circle goes in rhyme,

I am not a woman to be gawked at, not a man to ponder,

Not some skin to cheer for, Not a cold cadaver.

I am a part of no-one, yet I am alive for the truth that we share,

Truth that is revealed beyond the decay of flesh,

Truth that makes me one, NOT with the claimed genders,

But with the soil that bore us, soil where we shall lay,

Soil that of an unconquered land, soil that breathes beneath the secrets, soil that perhaps makes new histories!
