Delhi, 26November 2013: The largest upcoming retail destination of the
country, DLF Mall of India haswon
the prestigiousjury award ‘Retail Rising Star’ 2013 at the renowned
international summit, MAPIC that held in Cannes, France recently. This is the
first time ever that an Indian mall is rewarded at MAPIC. This is a real
international recognition amongst the international retail property community,
as MAPICsaw the presence ofretailers, retail brands, developers from across 70
countries.

Mall of India submitted the nominations for MAPIC Awards 2013 explaining the
unique features of the iconic, innovative and breakthrough project helmed by
DLF, the largest commercial real estate developer in India.The 1.9 million
square feet retail destination that represented India was one amongst the four
projects that were awarded the ‘Retail Rising Star’ jury award. The other three
projects that were awarded to the iconic shopping centres hail from China,
Brazil, and Russia.

which is the known as the Mecca of international retail gathering is the key
meeting point for global retailers and developers to associate. The three day
event that showcased the best projects from all over the world and acknowledged
the premium innovative and out of league projects in various categories like city
and shopping centers, factory outlets, leisure areas and transit zones. This
year the summit marked the presence of 8,200 unique participants, 2,430
retailers, 400 new retail brands, 730 exhibiting companies from 70 countries
all over the world representing 1,400 brands and 335 investment companies.
Pushpa Bector
who received the award on behalf of DLF Mall of India at the MAPIC also
participated in the panel discussion on opportunities for the global retailers
in India as a speaker. Talking of the opportunities that the foreign brands
will have in India, Pushpa Bector adds, “DLF Mall of
India is the largest retail project till date and it is an ode to the dynamic
Indian retail industry. Like all other DLF malls, this is poised to
be a family destination offering not just shopping, but an unforgettable
experience through unique tenant mix consisting of leading international and
Indian fashion, entertainment and dining brands.”
The marvel retail destination, DLF Mall of India is
modeled
after best in class international flagship properties and is an eclectic
ensemble of retail offerings spread across six levels of retail experience with
zones clearly defined as Market Place, International Boulevard, The High
Street, Family World and Leisure Land. The Mall would add many firsts to its
portfolio such as:- more than 475 retail units, coupled with the largest indoor
entertainment city spread over 2 levels – which would have 7 DT star screens
and the largest food court with over 1200 seats. Yet another first to the
project would be the presence of over 73 escalators and an express escalator to
provide convenience and comfort while shopping.
As
a recent development, DLF Mall of India has been granted the LEED Gold green
building certification and that is scheduled
for a launch in the first quarter of 2014. With the launch, the mall would welcome
some of the renowned global brands for the very first time in the country.
