WB Honours 2013 recognises leading properties and individuals in the field of washroom design and innovation.

October 5th, 2013, Mumbai: At a glittering function held this evening at Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai, 10 prominent personalities and organisations were presented with the WB Honours 2013 - a unique recognition for excellence in the field of washroom design and development. The event was held amidst the best of innovators, designers and achievers from various areas of the washroom industry who gathered together for a unique cause.
                     
WB Honours is an event that aims to recognise achievements made across the country in technology, innovations in design and maintenance in this important area of almost any building or property. Putting the focus on subjects like environment-friendly washrooms, efficient washrooms, technologically-driven washrooms and other spectra in this space, WB Honours has been instituted to bring forth steady advancements made by hotels, airports, designers and professionals from the world of architecture and design.
  
WB Honours is an initiative of Gnosis Services Pvt. Ltd.’s flagship magazine, Washrooms and Beyond - a publication dedicated to addressing the importance of washrooms and bringing into focus every aspect involved in it.

The first edition of the event was held in 2011 at JW Mariott, Mumbai to mark the first anniversary of Washrooms and Beyond. In its second year, WB Honours was held at Taj Land’s End, Mumbai, on October 5th, 2012.

This year, the third edition of the event was held at Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai, on October 5th, 2013.

At the event, WB Honours 2013 were presented to the following recipients:

1.      Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) for the category ‘Development of Model Public Washrooms by State Government’. Mr. Nitesh B. Bole, Manager-Sales Mumbai from J.C. Decaux Advertising India Pvt. Ltd. received the honour on behalf of DTTDC.


2.      Department of Industrial Design, SPA, New Delhi for the category ‘Innovation in Public Washroom Design’. Prof. Manoj Mathur, Head - Department of Industrial Design, School of Planning and Architecture; along with Prof. Parag Anand, Associate Professor and Ms. Aditi Singh, Faculty, received the Honour on behalf of School of Planning and Architecture.

3.      PVR Director’s Cut for the category ‘Efficient Bathrooms at Building Complexes’.
Mr. Sameep Pathak, Regional General Manager, PVR Ltd. received the honour on behalf of Pvr Director’s Cut.

4        Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd. for the category ‘Intelligent Washroom Design at Airports’. Mr. Manmohan Awasthi, Head – Project Finance, GMR Group, received the honour on behalf of Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd.

5        Mr. Sudhakaran Nair, President of the Indian Plumbing Association, and Managing Director of Essenco India, for the category ‘Special Contribution to Plumbing Design and Development’. Mr. B.S.A Narayan, Founder Director, Potential Service Consultants, Technical Advisor for Maple Hydraulics Consultants and Vice-President, Indian Plumbing Association, received the award on behalf of Mr. Sudhakaran Nair.

6        Fort Chanwa Luni, Jodhpur for the category ‘Washroom Restoration in Heritage Building’. Mr. K.D. Singh, General Manager, Fort Chanwa, Luni received the honour on behalf of Fort Chanwa, Luni.

7        Technology Driven Washrooms was supported by Dornbracht India Pvt. Ltd.
Trident, Hyderabad received the honour for the category ‘Technology Driven Washrooms’. Ms. Rabitha Thannooran, Sales Manager; and Mr. Harshad Makasare, Assistant Sales Manager, The Oberoi Group, received the award on behalf of Trident, Hyderabad.

8        Sukoon, The Eco Luxury Houseboat for the category ‘Green Washrooms’. Ms. Purnima, Manager-Sales, Sukoon, The Eco-Luxury Houseboat, received the honour on behalf of Sukoon, The Eco-Luxury Houseboat.

9        Unique Interior Design in Hotel Washroom was supported by Dornbracht India Pvt. Ltd.
Le Meridien, New Delhi was honoured for the category ‘Unique Interior Design in Hotel Washrooms’. Mr. Tarun Thakral, COO, Le Meridien, New Delhi received the honour on behalf of Le Meridien, New Delhi.

10    Mr. S.G. Deolalikar, Chairman Emeritus, Indian Plumbing Association, received the WB Lifetime Achievement Award.

After the honours were presented, the awardees of all ten categories took centre stage for a group photograph. After this, the Washrooms and Beyond (October-December) 2013 Anniversary issue was released by Mr. S.G. Deolalikar, on behalf of all the recipients.

The event also witnessed the unveiling of Kitchen Ideas - the newest magazine in the portfolio of Gnosis Services Pvt. Ltd. Kitchen Ideas is a quarterly B2B magazine that focuses entirely on the field of kitchen design and pays keen attention to the elements of the space, including appliances, materials, technology, plumbing and sustainability. Mr. Nadir Cassamo, Designer and Owner of Leiken – a Portuguese distribution company for designer kitchen and furniture products was also present at the event to witness the unveiling of Kitchen Ideas.
  
Commenting on the third edition of WB Honours, Ms. Sheital Shetty, Publisher, Gnosis Services Pvt. Ltd., said, “It gives us immense pleasure to honour and felicitate individuals and properties that have contributed significantly in the growth and development of the washroom industry. Since the institution of WB Honours, we have observed an increasing realisation of the need to develop efficient, eco friendly and functional washrooms in any facility. WB Honours is a recognition for good work done in this field, which is now an important part of any interior design project.
