Taiwan market: 7-Eleven Launches 7-inch Tablet, 50-inch Connected LCD TV through Cooperation with Foxconn

Mumbai / Bangalore - October 9, 2013

President Chain Store, the operator of 7-Eleven in Taiwan, on October 1 unveiled a 7-inch tablet and multimedia sharing device enabling wireless transfer of video from smartphones, tablets and notebooks to LCD TVs for launch in the Taiwan market at a combination price of NT$6,990 (US$235) as well as a 50-inch connected LCD TV at a retail price of NT$19,999. The three devices are developed and produced by Foxconn Electronics.

The tablet features a Marvell-developed ARM quad-core processor, 7-inch 1280 by 800 IPS touch screen, 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, and weighs 310g.




President China Store said it hopes to sell 3,000 tablets a month for a market share of 5% in Taiwan, adding it will continue to cooperate with Foxconn to launch 5-10 products, including smartphones, notebooks, desktops and 
portable LCD TVs, by the end of 2013.

President Chain Store launched a 60-inch Foxconn-produced LCD TV in July 2013 and sold 15,000 units in the first three months, the company said.
