EdelGive Foundation brings together 250 prominent artists to support the education of underprivileged children
Over 350 exquisite art works will contribute to charity at Palette 2013

Mumbai, February 6, 2013: In an unique initiative, EdelGive Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Edelweiss Group in bringing together over 250 prominent artists who have contributed over 350 art works to raise funds for the education of under-privileged children.

This is the largest such gathering of prominent artists supporting a charitable cause. The artists who are supporting the event by contributing their art works include eminent names like Jaideep Mehrotra, Brinda Miller, Sunil Padwal, Samir Mondal, Vrindavan Solanki, Ajay Dey, Yashwant Shrirwadkar, Charan Sharma, Papri Bose Mehta and many more senior and well known artists.

Captioned, “Palette 2013 – Art under Palms”, the Art charity event will be held at Fountainhead, the Leadership Training Centre of Edelweiss Group at Alibaug on Sunday, February 17, 2013. A Who’s who of Mumbai’s corporate world and high society are expected to attend the event and support the cause by buying art works.

Funds raised from Palette would be used to support ten NGOs working the area of education. (See overleaf for more information on EdelGive and the NGOs supported by Palatte 2013).

Speaking at the occasion Ms. Vidya Shah, CEO, EdelGive Foundation said, “We are extremely privileged to have prominent artists partner with us for a noble cause to help raise funds for charity. This, possibly, is the first time ever where so many artists are coming together for the cause of education and we at EdelGive Foundation feel proud to have the unstinted support of and passion of prominent artists.

Palette 2013 is supported by ArtWorks, one of India’s pioneering art management and consulting firms. Anupa Mehta, Director ArtWorks said, “We were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response we received from all the artists, when we approached them with the concept of Palette. Events such as this underscore just how much is possible if the best in their fields – corporate and art – collaborate for a good cause.”
Well know artist Papri Bose Mehta said, “I am happy to be associated with Palette and support the cause of education of underprivileged children. As artists all of us are deeply impacted by the social inequities around us and are happy to play a small role in addressing these issues.”
Eminent artist Manu Parekh said, “As artists we have always been grateful for the Indian people and especially art lovers for their love and support. Contributions to charitable initiatives like Palette is one of the ways of thanking them.”

·         Aangan Trust: Mumbai, Maharashtra  
Works with over 1500 children to create a system that protects India’s at-risk and vulnerable children, and emphasizes on their rehabilitation and reintegration. www.aanganindia.org

Runs the world's largest hands-on science education programme for disadvantaged children and rural teachers in government schools, using a science centre and mobile labs.www.agastya.org

·         Aroehan: Mokhada, Maharashtra
Focuses on addressing community development through a five-pronged approach: education, unemployment, water scarcity, health and governance.

·         Chehak Trust: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Provides life skills education to girls from disadvantaged urban slums, thus empowering women and creating a ripple effect in the community. www.sahyogchehak.org

·         Ibtada: Alwar, Rajasthan  
Uses trained motivators to promote an interface between government schools and the community to improve the teaching-learning process. www.ibtada.in

·         Manitham: Madurai, Tamil Nadu

·         Masoom: Mumbai, Maharashtra

·         Muktangan: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Runs seven English medium schools in partnership with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.  It uses the ‘whole school approach’ model that involves the community and trains local teachers to impart quality education to children. www.muktanganedu.org

·         Samaritan Help Mission: Kolkata, West Bengal
Provides quality education to children living in the Tikiapara slums of Kolkata. The programs include illiteracy elimination, scholarships vocational training and microcredit programs. www.samaritanhelpmission.org
