Mumbai, August 21, 2018: Papers N Parcels (PNP) and the
Mumbai Dabbawala Association have joined hands in contributing to providing aid
and relief material for the people affected by the devastating floods in
Kerala. More than 350 lives have been lost and lakhs of people have been
displaced in Kerala in the recent spate of incessant rains and flooding.
Papers N Parcels and the Mumbai dabbawalas today sent out
their contribution in the form of relief material comprising of food articles,
medicines and first-aid kits and also urged the citizens to come together in
helping the flood affected people of Kerala.
Papers N Parcels, the app-based courier service launched by
the 13-year-old Tilak Mehta last month, is also planning to contribute 20 per
cent of this week’s earnings to the Kerala Flood Relief Fund..

contribution from my own venture for the relief and aid of the flood-hit people
in Kerala and didn’t have to depend on my parents to do so. Papers N Parcels
and the Dabbawala Association have come together to provide rice, which is
staple food for the people in Kerala, along with other food stuff, medicines
and first-aid kits. I have also decided to donate 20 per cent of the week’s
earnings from Papers N Parcels to the Kerala flood relief fund.”
Expressing solidarity with the flood victims, Mr. Subhash
Talekar, President, Dabbawala Association, said: “Speaking from our experience
during the Mumbai floods, such as the one in 26th July, 2015, we know how hard
it must be for the people in Kerala who have been stranded without shelter,
food or water for days. The dabbawalas from our association feel humbled to
join this noble cause with Papers N Parcels to reach out and help the flood
victims in Kerala in our small way. We will continue to do as much as possible
to help the people and try raising more contribution from Mumbaikars. “
