Emergency Department of S.L Raheja Hospital - A Fortis Associate becomes the 1st hospital in Western suburbs to be accredited with NABH Certification



~ Only the 2nd hospital in Maharashtra to be bestowed with the accreditation ~
~ 3yrs since initiation of the Emergency Dept., over 20,000 patients treated till date ~

Mumbai, 17th January, 2018: The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) has accredited the Emergency Department of S.L Raheja Hospital - A Fortis Associate with a certificate that signifies quality in patient and clinical care. NABH, which is enabled by the Quality Council of India, evaluated the ER dept. at SL Raheja Hospital on stringent 250 parameters. The members of the council observed and raised two observations which were subsequently closed and certification was issued to the hospital, a milestone achievement as it marks the 1st Emergency Dept. in the Western suburbs with an NABH certification.

In Maharashtra, the hospital joins fellow Fortis Hospital, Mulund in the ranks as the second NABH certified Emergency Dept. Teams from nursing, medical services, general administration, quality, engineering and HR, branding, etc. were formed to interpret NABH-Emergency standards, undertaking Gap  Analysis to understand the lacunae. The Emergency Dept. at SL Raheja Hospital - A Fortis Associate, led by Dr Amit Nabar, Consultant-Critical Care, HOD-Accident & Emergency Medicine, at the hospital, maintains every aspect of patient and clinical management, treating all kinds of surgical and medical emergencies. Quality of care is made available as per international standards following best practices and guidelines. ER staff at the hospital are well trained in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) as per set protocols and trauma cases are managed efficiently as per the ATLS protocols.

Speaking about the milestone achievement, Dr Bipin Chevale, Zonal Director, S L Raheja Hospital-A Fortis Associate, said, “We are ecstatic to have receive this distinguished accreditation and to be the first hospital to be certified in the western suburbs, for its Emergency Dept.
