COLDPLAY, JAY Z, AMITABH BACHCHAN AND MORE TO PERFORM AT GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL INDIA



MUMBAI, 17th November 2016: The first Global Citizen Festival to be held in India promises a lineup to remember -- not just for all the artists, performers, stars of the big screen or the sports field, but also for the good that they do in the world as Global Citizens.  Check out the full lineup on www.globalcitizen.in. If you are attending the Festival at MMRDA in BKC, Mumbai on Saturday 19 November then remember your ticket and ID proof -- doors open to the audience at 10.30am; the Festival starts at 1.30pm and doors close at 4 pm

Headlining the Festival on 19 November are Coldplay, Jay Z and Demi Lovato who will all perform their first scheduled shows in India in support of the Global Citizen India movement. They will be joined by Indian stars who will all perform in support of the #ShuruaatHoonMain message: Amitabh Bachchan with Shillong Chamber Choir; Alia Bhatt; Katrina Kaif; Varun Dhawan; Shankar Ehsaan Loy; A R Rahman; Ranveer Singh; Arijit Singh; Farhan Akhtar; Shraddha Kapoor; Sonakshi Sinha and Amruta Khanvilkar. 

Also featuring at the festival are British sensation The Vamps, global fusion artist Karsh Kale with Midival Panditz who performed at the New York City Festival in September , DJ Lost Stories, DJ Clement, Electroverts; Monali Thakur; and Ananya Birla.

Lending support to the Festival as Segment Hosts are: Arjun Kapoor; Ayushmann Khuranna; Parineeti Chopra; Ritesh Deshmukh; Malaika Arora Khan; and Shah Rukh Khan.

Joining the movement as Speakers are Vidya Balan; Dia Mirza; Vivek Oberoi; Muhammad Yunus; Kailash Satyarthi; Narendra Singh Tomar; Sachin Tendulkar; Leander Paes; Sakshi Malik; and Vijender Singh.

The Global Citizen Festival India is Global Citizen India’s first initiative to catalyse India’s journey to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The Festival brings together youth with leaders from across private industry, government, and non-governmental and community organizations to amplify the voice of young people and hold leaders accountable to drive positive change. The celebrated Indian and international personalities and artists in the lineup have all committed their support to champion the causes adopted by Global Citizen India in its first year: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Gender Equality; Quality Education.  

Global Citizen Festival India is being presented by Colors Viacom18 and Venky’s, and powered by UPL and NECC. It is being hosted in Mumbai in association with the Government of Maharashtra with event-produced by Wizcraft International Entertainment PVT. The United Nations is a partner, and the Times of India Group and Viacom18 are strategic partners. Other partners include Google, Hindustan Unilever, Ola, Spykar, Make My Trip, Taj Group of Hotels and BookMyShow.
