GLAMOUR WITH A HEART OF LOVE! CHARITY GALA DINNER BY CHIP; A BRILLIANT INITIATIVE IN AID OF UNDER UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN
CELEBRATING 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHIP-(CHILDREN IN PROGRESS) HOLDS ITS CHARITY GALA DINNER TO RAISE FUNDS TO ENABLE THEM TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK WITH THE UNDERPRIVILEGED.
CHIP is an NGO which works towards quality education in government schools aiming to do this by leveraging the existing resources to drive educational reforms and holistic development of children in the public school system.
Saturday night turned out to be a treat for Mumbai. The evening where the who’s who of tinsel town united and came forth in order to support CHIP- a noble initiative by actress and socialite Kunickaa Sadanand and Dr. Sunita Banerji’s to extend help to the under privileged kids, was held at one of the plush hotels of Mumbai. Offering a glamorous take on charity, CHIP organizes a charity dinner amidst an unforgettable evening of comedy, electric entertainment of music and dance.
The charity gala dinner was anchored by the very charismatic Ruby Bhatia who spinned her magic and kept the audience engaged with his wit, energy & charm. Apart from Ruby Bhatia’s anchoring, the gathering was engaging and entertaining as Bollywood’s blossoming singer and music composer Arjuna Harjai performed to his super hit track “O Soniyo” and kept everyone grooving. Upcoming singer and lyricist Surabhi Dashputra kept everyone entertained with livewire dance and musical performance.
A bevy of guests and celebrities comprising of Tanisha Mukherjee, Hrishitta Bhatt, Amy Billimoria, Kavitta Verma, Rakesh Bedi, Arjuna Harjai, Surabhi Dashputra, Aneel Murarka, Rakesh Bedi, Shweta Khanduri, Aziz Zee, Shakir Shaikh, Bob Brambhatt, Prashant Sharma, Ruby Bhatia, Tarun Katiyal, Bhavana Somaiya all joined in to take part in the cause and offered their selfless help to contribute for the betterment of the under privileged children.
Auction was on the highlights of the gala. Holding a vision of better lives for the under privileged children, renowned actress Tanishaa Mukherji’s lend her helping hand by auctioning her beautiful outfit. The proceeds of the auction went for charity as an aid to propose a better future.
The event witnessed a memorable dinner with side- splitting comedy by exemplary stand- up artists, exhilarating music and dance and a chance to win exciting prizes! There were 3 live food counters and wine as part of dinner and drinks to complement the whole experience.
Adding to the merriment, the trustees, social workers volunteers and donors of CHIP also set the tone for the evening celebrating 10th anniversary of the NGO. After successfully carving a niche for themselves in the field of education and personality building of the lesser privileged and marginalized kids. And for receiving tremendous support for the past decade in Mumbai CHIP calls for double celebrations.
Dr. Sunita Banerji's who supports the cause mention, “Basically CHIP helps brighten the lives of children coming from lower socio- economic conditions by giving them the opportunity to grow holistically and bloom in life."
Kunickaa Sadanand actor and social activist, who is secretary of CHIP says, "When we started our Mumbai chapter of CHIP we never knew the journey would be so tough and yet so satisfying. Our dream is to see that every child, beginning with Maharashtra and then spreading to the remotest part of India gets quality education and a holistic development."
CHIP Mumbai works with Municipal Schools through the public/private partnership program. The primary aim is to bring innovation into the classroom and make BMC school centers for holistic education. The dominant focus is to deliver “Total Child Care” to children in BMC School by providing education, health and an opportunity to indulge in extracurricular activities.
CHIP currently throws some light on issues such as The Balwadi Project in order to provide high quality pre-school facilities to children in BMC School; The School Enrichment Programs, to develop enhance quality teaching in BMC schools by introducing innovative ways of teaching in order to help children enjoy learning in the classroom; The After School Program which involves a structured after school program in BMC schools that provides access to academic support, extra-curricular learning and platforms to showcase talent.
Carrying on the work which began in Kolkata over two and a half decades ago, CHIP believes in coming forth and standing firm in their commitment to ensure that each child deserves the best and gets the equal opportunities available to the privileged few. Objective of the event is to raise awareness about CHIP, and to connect with like minded people to take the cause forward.
CHIP primarily began with the mission to promote quality education in government schools, giving all students an opportunity to realize their potential, acquire skills, knowledge and an attitude which will help them become successful citizens and lifelong learners and achievers.
The NGO has always maintained that winning trust and confidence of people is only possible through hard work. Amidst some great entertaining performances, glamorous guests & a scrumptious spread, the message of persevered endeavors towards maintaining the trust mark and improving the standard of living of under privileged kids who are often neglected by the society was further strengthened.
