golden TAG Heuer Carrera timepieces in Mumbai.The Carrera series was launched in 1963 and was a creation of Jack Heuer - great grandson of the brand’s founder, for race-car drivers and motor racing enthusiasts. Jack Heuer was inspired by the Carrera Panamericana road race, which is considered the toughest in the world and it has been this inspiration that has led the Carrera on its iconic journey. To celebrate the Golden Jubilee, the brand launched its new collection of Golden Carrera timepieces.
The elegant reinterpretation of an enduring masterpiece, with maximized Carrera refinement and allure, this new Carrera series by TAG Heuer is powered by the supremely accurate Calibre 5 automatic movement. Created for the true connoisseurs of luxury, this collection has options in 18 carat Gold for those who like bling and 18 carat Rose Gold for those who like to keep in subtle. With options of rose gold or gold with steel and leather straps, details are stunning in their sophistication: hand-applied TAG Heuer logo, indexes and date window.
On the occasion, Brand Ambassador Shahrukh Khan was presented with the New Carrera Calibre 5 Rose Gold timepiece by Franck Dardenne, General Manager, TAG Heuer India.
With two in-house patented movements, TAG Heuer is also celebrating the Art of Manufacturing this year. The intricacy and detailing required for ultimate precision that goes into the creation of every watch is a task. Every component has to come together at the precise moment in order to achieve the accuracy that a TAG Heuer timepiece is known for. It is this theme that was depicted through a visual and musical extravaganza presented by a live jazz band, wherein the band showcased how different musical notes come together one by one to create that perfect symphony.
Since the evening was all about celebrating the Art of Manufacturing and Creation, and given the long withstanding association that TAG Heuer has had with the world of glamour and movies, Indian Film directors who have created unconventional cinema were felicitated at the event. Leading Directors likeKunal Kohli, Punit Malhotra and Tarun Mansukhaniwere all gifted the latest Steel and Gold Carrera Calibre 5 timepiece by Franck Dardenne and Shahrukh Khan.

The newcomer to the Carrera Calibre 5 range is a Day Date that is bound to appeal to people who truly value style. The very essence of the Carrera legend is expressed within its 41 mm diameter. The quest for refinement is taken to extremes with the rose gold-plated hands, indexes, date window and logo, all delicately hand-fitted by our dial-making artisans. The polished and satin-brushed indexes accentuate the contrast with the hands, creating a highly readable dial – the trademark of the Carrera and a loyal tribute to Jack Heuer’s original design. The date window with its polished sides provides a simultaneous day-date display, while the entirely polished case may be fitted with an ergonomic bracelet featuring H-shaped links or an alligator leather strap for a more traditional look.
FRANCK DARDENNE
General Manager, TAG Heuer, India
Franck Dardenne, General Manager, LVMH Watch & Jewellery India Private Limited is responsible for the LVMH Watch and Jewellery portfolio that includes – TAG Heuer in India and the sub continent - Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Franck Dardenne, 39 years old, did his Masters in Philosophy and then passed the ‘Agregation de Philosophie ‘ the most competitive philosophy exam in France for high school and college teachers in 1997. Then in 2000, he completed his business degree Ecole Des Hautes Commerciales from the premiere French school of management – HEC.
Franck has been with the LVMH group since 2002. He started his career, as a marketing analyst then became a business intelligence and media manager. In 2005 he was promoted to consumer marketing manager who was also in charge of Internet and brand patrimony. 2007 saw Franck moving to TAG Heuer Japan as the Area Sales Manager for Korea and as sales operations manager for the Japanese subsidiary.
Before joining LVMH, he has worked in various capabilities in the French Military Service, taught Philosophy at a high school level and worked with the French Parliament Minority leader.
