Salaam Bombay Foundation at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, 2014

Salaam Bombay Foundation at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, 2014
In its incessant bid to provide a platform to children to express themselves and showcase their creativity and
talent, Salaam Bombay Foundation has continued their association with the esteemed Kala Ghoda Arts
Festival and participated for the third consecutive year. The festival attracts thousands of visitors every day
and the experience of performing in front of such a large audience boosts their confidence and strengthens their
motivation to do better in their chosen field.
In the eight-day long Kala Ghoda fest, Salaam Bombay Foundation will be a
part of a variety of events like dance, theatre and music.
In a unique combination of students from both private and municipal schools,
SBF had initiated ‘VOICES’, an inter-school peer learning platform in August
2012. As promised, the winners of the 2013 edition (St. Mary’s High School
SSC, G.D. Somani and Sandesh Vidyalay Park site) are being given a chance to
showcase their talent at the Kalaghoda Art Festival on Feb 2nd at Horniman
Circle Gardens between 5 and 6 pm.
The students from the Salaam Bombay Kathak Academy, trained by their
guruji, renowned and globally recognized Kathak performer Anjalie Gupta, will
demonstrate their dancing skills and creativity. They will perform the Ghumar, a
traditional folk dance of Rajasthan and display their versatility by dancing to the
famous Bollywood song “Senorita”. The soothing Gurbani will also be
presented by the children of the Salaam Bombay Music Academy.
