Mumbai 14 February, 2014:
Melange, the grand fest of K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and
Research (SIMSR), is again round the corner. Enthusiasm of the students has
filled the Tagore amphitheater of SIMSR, making it the busiest place in the campus
from the past few weeks. In fact, it has become a very interesting place to be
at from past few days; the sight of students dancing, singing, practicing for
fashion show, etc is very enchanting.
It all started with an
on-line quiz, ‘Quiver’, and was followed by a blood donation and
Thalesemia test drive. As this year the theme of Melange is ‘to work
towards a better tomorrow’, organizing a blood donation camp helped the
students in giving back to the society. About 150 people including students
from SIMSR, faculty and staff registered for blood donation.
This year, SIMSRites have
put in immense efforts to take it to a grand level; and yes, it’s
absolutely evident. Melange 2014, an exciting culmination of the management and
cultural entertainment, has witnessed entries from over hundred and ten
B-Schools, eighty Arts and Commerce colleges, and seventy Engineering colleges
around the country. And yes, for some entertainment, while keeping the
competition alive, what could be more exciting than dance competition, fashion
show, ‘Battle of Bands’, and a special performance by the very
talented official band of SIMSR-‘Mauj’? Prizes worth over six Lakhs
in cash and kind to be won!
For the very first time in
the history of Melange, it will be marked with presence of celebrities like Farhan Akhtar,
Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, and Amit Sadh.
All’s well that ends well! Experience Sunburn campus on February 16, 2014 as a
perfect closure to Melange 2014.
