Mumbai, Thursday, November 28, 2013: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) – leader in 3D Animation and VFX training in association with United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) welcomes one and all to the 10th 24 FPS Annual International Animation Awards 2013 on December 6, 2013, 7:00 PM onwards at The Lalit Intercontinental, Andheri (East) in Mumbai. In the celebratory year of 24 FPS 2013, MAAC has organized creative workshops, informative sessions, exhibitions and entertaining competitions such as MAAC’s Got Talent, 24 FPS Signature Tune Contest, National Level Gaming Competition, etc.
The theme selected for this year’s awards, ‘MY World 2015’ is in support of the UN’s mission to improve the lives of millions through animation films. To address UN theme in the most effective manner and promote it on global platforms ‘Digital Film Making’ has been introduced in the ‘Open’ category for external participants for 2013 Awards. Propagating this campaign and urging people to voice their opinions is the prime objective of MAAC - UNIC. 24FPS provides an opportunity to young animation enthusiasts to showcase their creativity and get acclaimed at international level.
A prestigious jury panel of industry stalwarts from across the world comprising of Shelly Page – Dreamworks, Subhajit Sarkar – Rhythm & Hues, Viral Thakkar – Pixion, Hari Varma - Toonz Animation Pvt Ltd, Merzin Tavaria - Prime Focus, E Suresh - Eeksaurus, Nishith Takia - Krayon Pictures, Santosh Kale – Underground Worms, Senthil Kumar – JWT, Vaibhav More – Vaibhav More Films, Vaibhav Kumaresh – Vaibhav Studios among the other imminent personalities from animation fraternity.
The categories for 2013 awards are Best VFX Short Film: Student, Best 3D Animated Short Film: Student, Best 2D Animated Short Film: Student, Best Game Design 2013: Studio/Professional Category, Best Visual Effects Feature Film 2013: Studio/Professional Category, Best TVC 2013: Studio/Professional Category, Best TV Series 2013: Studio/Professional Category, Best Animated (2D/3D) Short Film 2013: Studio/Professional, Best Experiential Animation: Student / Studio / Professional / Freelancer, Best Photography (Theme – Life in India): Student / Professional / Freelancer.
24 FPS films have received global recognition at various national and international film festivals like Asia Appollo Awards – Singapore, Annecy Awards – France, FICCI BAF Awards, Japanese International film festival and Golden Cursor Awards to name a few. Over a decade, 24 FPS Awards has gained momentous support from the global animation fraternity and has been a key promoter of fresh animation talent in India.
