Camlin celebrates the true spirit of Children’s Day
Mumbai,
14th November 2013: Kokuyo Camlin Limited (Earlier Camlin Limited)
– the pioneering and leading stationery and art material manufacturer of the
country celebrated Children’s Day by organizing various initiatives for
underprivileged Children in the city.
Kokuyo Camlin had
partnered with Bandra Bandstand Resident Trust, a non-profit organization
taking care of the Bandstand Promenade and also running a school for
underprivileged children. 150 underprivileged Children from three schools in
Bandra participated in a painting contest at the promenade. The kids had a gala time painting and
colouring at the promenade. The activity was aimed at providing these children
with an opportunity to learn and interact with the fellow kids. Kokuyo Camlin
gave out prizes to the top three winners.
Talking about
this initiative which Kokuyo Camlin had organized, Mr. A Srikanth, CEO, said, “Our endeavour to celebrate children’s
day in true spirit is by being a part of their celebrations. There are so many children in India – who
wouldn’t know the meaning of Children’s Day. This initiative is both privilege
and a humble attempt to reach out to those children and give them an opportunity
to celebrate this day with us”
Kokuyo Camlin
also took 100 Underprivileged Children from Mumbai based NGO ‘Touch’ (Turning Opportunities for Upliftment & Child help) for a tour around the city in specially
organized buses. The kids were given a
small tour of various places in Mumbai like Bandra- Worli sea link, Gateway of
India and Marine Drive. With an on bus magic show included, kids had a wonderful
time. They were also provided with refreshments, lunch and gifts by Kokuyo
Camlin.
That’s not all!
To further spread the joy Kokuyo Camlin visited Anand Niketan, an orphanage
based at Worli, to mingle with the bright kids and bring a smile on their face,
by being a part of their celebrations. Fun filled activities like - singing,
