Canon champions ASEAN spirit of togetherness at the 27th SEA Games
Canon to support athletes as Official Imaging and Document Solutions Sponsor at
SEA Games in Myanmar
Gurgaon, 11 October 2013 – Canon, the leader in digital imaging, today, announced its sponsorship of the 27th South-East Asian Games (SEA Games), which will be held in Myanmar in December 2013. Canon will be the SEA Games ‘Official Imaging and Document Solutions Sponsor’ working with organisers, fans and photographers to capture and communicate compelling moments during this historic event.

by the SEA Games motto which is focused on sustainability,
sportsmanship and friendship, Canon wants to champion this celebration
of the culture, heritage and traditions of South-east Asia as Official

fostering better relationships through sports across the region, Canon

stakeholders for the host country, by raising visibility of the promise
and possibilities of Myanmar in this pivotal period of social and
economic development” further added Mr. Kensaku Konishi.
The
2013 SEA Games will be hosted in Nay Pyi Daw, Yangon and Mandalay, and
will feature more than 32 sports and 6,000 athletes from 11 countries
including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines,
Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. Apart from being one of
the region’s most significant events in 2013, this year’s Games will
also mark its return to Myanmar, a country that last hosted the biennial
multi-sporting event 44 years ago in 1969.
Canon Professional Support Services Onsite
Fans
who are unable to attend the Games usually experience the passion and
excitement of the event through compelling and powerful photos and
videos. In line with this vision, Canon will provide behind-the-scenes
support at the Canon
Professional
Service centre on-site to accredited professional sports photographers
covering the event. Services include technical support and advice,
repair and maintenance services, as well as loans of the latest Canon
EOS system camera and lens equipment to ensure that photographers are
able to continue shooting. In addition, Canon will also provide document
management support and Business Multi Function Devices to the
organizers in ensuring the smooth running of the Games.
Sports Sponsorship - Canon’s Contribution to the Community
Canon’s
involvement in sports is in line with its corporate philosophy of
