Canon India Announces Ambitious 2013 Roadmap for its Office Imaging Solutions Division

Mumbai 18 April 2013 – Canon India Pvt Ltd, India’s No. 1 Complete Digital Imaging Company, outlined today its roadmap for their Office Imaging Solution Division (OIS) for 2013. Canon’s OIS division focuses on offering unparalleled document management solutions to the large enterprise, SME and government sectors. The division witnessed a year-on-year growth of 22% in 2012. Canon’s managed document services (MDS) represent approximately 25% of the OIS division’s business returns. Managed print services’ contracts are expected to represent 40% of revenues by end of 2014, illustrating this critical business need.

As part of its strategy, Canon’s OIS division aims to increase its market share to almost 29% in 2013 from 25%. The division will focus more on the SME, Pharmaceutical, BFSI, Automobile, Logistics sectors as they are poised to increasingly embrace MDS to help their growing business. Canon’s OIS division will identify these organizations’ document management needs and provide customized, holistic solutions to optimize efficiency and cost-reduction.  The OIS division offers its customers state-of-the-art green technology complying with the latest international environmental guidelines to help organizations comply with green best practices.

Speaking at the announcement of the OIS roadmap, Mr. K. Bhaskhar, Senior Director Office Imaging Solutions Division, Canon said “With organizations across all sectors enhancing their focus on total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction and greener practices, they are increasingly aware of the need for optimizing their printing infrastructure.  Canon sees this as a substantial business opportunity and wants to help these organizations through its world-class technology, guaranteeing cost-efficiency and security to its customers. Canon MDS is currently managing end-to-end printing infrastructure of 75 large customers in India”.

He further added, “For 2013, Canon’s OIS division is planning to further extend its reach to Tier II and Tier III market.”

Further elaborating on Canon’s growth ambitions in 2013, Mr Bhaskar Joshi, Senior Marketing Manager, Office Imaging Solution, Canon Indiastated “Companies today are increasingly aware that buying a Multi-Function Printer is a cost and investment and they look for high ROI. With MDS they can transition from a CAPEX to an OPEX approach, which is currently a key concern amongst CIOs and CFOs across all sectors. MDS directly reduces their costs and increases their productivity, as they can lease MFPs from Canon and streamline their printing infrastructure. We offer 360-degree technological solutions to our customers to enable them to solely concentrate on their core business leaving their printing worries to Canon”.

Moreover, he said, “With the support of our channel partners and our  exceptional 24x7 after-sales service call-logging process, we ensure that customer queries are met at the earliest. “

Responding to document production being one of today’s organizations’ biggest expenditures with a cost of 15-20% of their revenue, Canon’s managed document services outsources documents and associated processes resulting in savings of up to 30%.  Canon recently won BLI’s first ‘Line of the Year’ award for energy efficiency with its A3 range of MFPs.
