The Hon Minister of Commerce Industry and Textile Shri Anand Sharma, inaugurated India Engineering Sourcing Show 2013 together with Mr Martin Kuba, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, The partner country at the exhibition. IESS had made its debut in March 2012 in Mumbai.

Addressing the press conference after inaugurating the India Engineering Sourcing show (IESS) 2013, organized by EEPC India (Export Promotion in association with Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Mr Anand Sharma, Union Minister for Commerce, Industries and Textiles, said that the numbers in the last three quarters have given optimism, and that manufacturing sector has been driving this growth.

Mr. Sharma also added that India has emerged as a preferred center for establishing manufacturing facilities for engineering goods and IESS 2013 would give impetus to engineering exports from India. He further mentioned that the two way trade between India and Czech is growing rapidly and is expected to touch US$ 2 billion by the end of 2015 from the current level of $ 900 million.

He further stated that the Ministry has set a target of USD 125 billion by 2013-14 for engineering goods exports. He spoke of the importance of platforms such as IESS to showcase India’s engineering strengths, and to provide global players an opportunity to source Vendors.  He also said “We believe that our efforts in identifying new countries to partner with for engineering sector along with strengthening our base in US and Europe will help boost Indian engineering export. The presence of delegates from various countries indicates the reputation and confidence in engineering goods manufactured in India.”





The economic partnership between India and the Czech Republic has grown over the years. There are immense opportunities provided by the complementarities between the two economies to expand the flow of trade, technology, investment and people to people contact between the two nations. India and the Czech Republic have decided to further increase and diversify bilateral trade on a mutually beneficial and balanced basis.

The Czech Republic and India have already started collaborating in:
Ø  Engineering, especially in auto parts, spares, textile machinery,
Ø  Machine tools etc.

Ø  Pharmaceuticals

Czech manufacturing. In recent years, the country is diversifying away from manufacturing toward a more high-tech, services based; knowledge economy said Honorable Minister Mr. Martin Kuba, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic

India is a priority market for us and we have historical industrial relations with India.  Companies such as SKODA have been in India for some time and we expect more companies to set up facilities here. Our participation in 2nd IESS 2013 will give a major impetus to our trade partnership. Both the economies look forward to each other for forging, economic, commercial and political relations as both the countries have been in the midst of reforms after opening up their economies to foreign investment and technology,” informed Mr Kuba

“The Czech Republic is also keen on introducing, establishing and strengthening the position of the famous Czech design trade brands in the Indian market and we shall see of lot of interesting Czech Technologies at work during IESS 2013,” advised Mr Kuba
The Czech Republic is one of the “sweet spots of Europe” and we are sure that Indian companies will like to establish their base in a low cost highly efficient economy of Czech Republic. Similarly, we are encouraging our companies to invest in India and we are quite pleased with the emerging opportunities in the India,” added Mr Kuba

IESS 2013 is essentially a partnership event focused on collaborative opportunities in “technology hub” value chain for manufacturing industry, from SME to large scale organizations. IESS 2013 provides an unique opportunity all companies intending to do business in India and opens doors for global cooperation’s. 304 Indian companies and 101 international companies are exhibiting at the show. Over 500 international delegates are attending the  event and various international delegation present at the show include Australia, Bangladesh, France, Guinea, Lesotho, Iraq, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Yemen Etc. The three day event is being organized in Mumbai from 14 -16 march 2013 and over 10000 Indian visitors are expected at the show.
