JAVED AKHTAR SHARES WHY HE DINT WRITE FOR KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI

Javed Akhtar has been one of the most accomplished writers in the country. His work has been celebrated on many occasions and every director-producer wants to work on it. It is no surprise that he was invited to deliver a speech on TED Talks India Nayi Soch under the theme of ‘Power of Words’. And he won hearts of the audience and host SRK with his words and charisma once again.
But when SRK and Akhtar saab spoke about their career, latter was quick to speak of some of their collaborations and point out the one instance to audience where he revealed why he did not write for one of the most iconic movies of 90s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He quipped, “I thought the movie’s name had a lot of double meaning. I was not convinced to write for this project.” We wonder what it would have been like if he lent his words to Karan Johar’s blockbuster.
But on a cheerful note, he said, “But I was all praises for SRK in Kal Ho Na Ho and I am happy I could be a part of the journey. I used the words I rejected earlier to make a more meaningful song which you all [audience] made popular called Kuch Toh Hua Hai, Kuch Hogaya Hai.” SRK had a close-up smile.
