February, 2021- Inspired by Matthew Teague’s real life story that won over the internet, Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s upcoming directorial is an intimate tale of a husband, wife and their best friend.
Our Friend tells the true, inspiring, heartbreaking and beguiling story of the Teague family. Journalist Matt (Casey Affleck), his wife Nicole (Dakota Johnson) and two daughters lived in a beautiful fairytale, till Nicole’s diagnosis of terminal cancer.
When all starts crumbling and everything seems lost, along comes their best friend Dane Faucheux (Jason Segel), who helps them tide this storm. How this couple sails through with the power of love forms the crux of the movie.
Not just a run of the mill quintessential drama, the film explores romance in a more realistic way, showing us the frills and freckles of a relationship between a grieving husband and dying wife. Dakota and Casey lend mature and sensitive portrayals while playing a couple facing testing times, their warm chemistry has to be seen to be believed.

PVR Pictures is all set to release Our Friend, directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, starring Dakota Johnson, Casey Affleck and Jason Segel amongst others on the 12th of February, 2021.
