Terna Speciality Hospital organized CPR training & Laughter therapy for Navi Mumbai Police

World Heart Day – 29th September 2018

28th September 2018: Terna Speciality Hospital & Research Centre, Nerul organized a CPR Training program & laughter therapy on the occasion of World Heart Dayfor the Navi Mumbai police on  Friday September 28, 2018. 150 Police Officers found the training program to be significant & interesting, and participated enthusiastically.
The training programme was conducted by Dr. Archna Mhatre, Anesthesiologistfrom Terna Medical College. The highlight of this training program was the session on the Cardio Pulmonary Recitation (CPR) techniques conducted by Dr. Mhatre. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a lifesaving technique useful in medical emergencies such as Heart attack, in which someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. CPR is performed in an effort to manually revive the Heart pumping and thereby restore brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.
On this occasion cardiologist from Terna Speciality hospital Dr. Mahesh Ghogare said, “In our society many people dies due to sudden heart attack but there is no awareness about CPR program among us, so on the occasion of World Heart Day we decided to make awareness about LIFE SAVING COURCE which is (CPR) and coming year we will try to reach at least 2000 police staff in Navi Mumbai. Police officers who are on duty are more close with society and if they are aware about CPR then they can make it popular among common people is our prime thought. Medical emergencies can strike anytime, anywhere – even on roads –and in most cases, medical assistance is not immediately available. Hence, medical professionals recommend first aid, a temporary help given to a victim before professional medical help can be provided. This timely assistance is most critical to victims, and in most cases, it turns out to be life-saving.”
After CPR training holder of Limca laughter records Mr. Kishore H. Kuvavala has conducted laughter therapy for police staff where he gave small tips how to keep away from mental stress which also also cause heart diseases. Veteran Marathi Cinema actress Dipali Sayyad has been participated in World Heart day Program today.
