Pablo Schreiber's weapon familiarity and training for 13 Hours paid off for Den of Thieves

Den of Thieves, starring Gerard Butler, Curtis Jackson, Pablo Schreiber is all set to release on Feb 2 pan India by PVR Pictures. A gritty Los Angeles based crime saga, Den of Thieves certainly required most of the actors involved to be trained in using and managing weapons. Pablo Schreiber (George "Pornstache" Mendez on Orange Is the New Black fame) who plays the character of the film's key arch nemisis "Merrimen" needed to handle a lot of weapons during the filming.  Interestingly it was not as difficult as it seemed for Pablo as he was well trained in handling and using weapons from his previous film 13 Hours.

Reminiscing his  experience while shooting for Den Of Thieves Pablo said, "I had done a movie called 13 Hours with Michael Bay, so I came in with a little bit of knowledge about the weapons. It was great to have a jump start on it; because I had some experience already, I naturally fell into a position of team leader, which was a natural fit for the role. We worked with a technical advisor who really got us trained up. We spent a lot of time on the range, learning the weapons together really prepared us for when we got to set. There’s a great scene at the shooting range where Gerard shows up to intimidate and show his face in front of us. We’re all shooting at targets and he starts shooting at a normal clip. And just to piss him off, I unload four mags straight in about 13 seconds, which is a pretty tough feat. I had to learn to cycle through four mags at really high speeds and really get the technique of being able to do that."

Directed by Christian Gudegast, Den Of Thieves starring Gerard Butler, Curtis Jackson, Jordan Bridges, Pablo Scheriber, O'Shea Jackson Jr  is all set to release pan India on Feb 2, 2018 by PVR Pictures.
