unnamed

Mumbai, 23, January, 2015: Iconic designer brand Satya Paul, today announced the launch of their capusle khadi collection, woven by the widowed khadi weavers of the farmers of Marthawada. Having been a leading emblem of the Indian nationalist movement, this fabric has great significance to the history of modern India. With Republic Day around the corner, this limited edition saree line celebrates the regale of Indian spirit woven into the fabric that symbolizes India's self-reliance.

The line offers a wide range of pure khadi sarees on a monochromatic palate, as well as with a churn of other unique khadi blends in vibrant hues. All the pieces have been inspired from the repertoire of Satya Paul’s iconic prints from over the years that have represented a socio-cultural cause.

The collection especially designed in support of the Naam Foundation for development of Khadi was recently showcased at the Spring Fest, Mumbai uniting the world through performing arts. The show was attended by a host of celebrities including Milind Deora, psychologist Harsh Shetty, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Coleen Khan, Lubna Adams, models Deepti Gujra and Alecia Candice Pinto, Deepika Gehani and more.

About Satya Paul:
Established in 1985, Satya Paul is India’s premier design label with an international presence. The brand is acclaimed for ingenuity in design and a vivid color palette. As part of Genesis Colors since 2001, the brand has grown from strength to strength and is now present at over 30 offline locations in India and abroad. In the online space, the brand retails at key e-commerce websites like Amazon, Myntra and Jabong.

Started at a time when there was little or no awareness about fashion or the idea of designer brands in India, Satya Paul introduced the idea of choreographed collections and modern ethnic wear. The brand’s take on print innovations did not only change the way the consumer previously looked at Sarees, but also developed a specific niche for concept-based designs. Women no longer restrict themselves to hereditary Banarasis and Chanderis; and Satya Paul has been instrumental in this bringing about this change with the new-age Saree, which is easy to wear and chic.
