Mumbai, 3rd July 2015: Volvo Auto India today announced the launch of the S60 T6 petrol in India. The new S60 will be available in T6 petrol, Automatic 8-Speed FWD with 306 HP and a whopping 400 Nm torque.
Priced at Rs. 42 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi/ NCR), the Volvo S60 T6 Petrol will be retailed through Volvo dealerships across the country starting today.
The new Artemis Cars showroom in Chennai is owned by Ms Nrithya Shetty and Mr. Sivaganesh Balasubramaniam. Located on the Anna Salai Main Road, Teynampet, Chennai, this stand-alone luxury retail experience is spread over an area of 4600 sqft. having a true Scandinavian ambience. It is a modern and contemporary looking showroom having an ‘inviting interior design’ speaking of the new Volvo’s Retail Experience concept, with a ‘Cool on the outside’ and ‘Warm on the inside’ feel.

DESIGN
Accentuated road presence
The front design increases the S60's road presence. The more focused and determined-looking headlamps help create this expressive ‘face'. The S60's horizontal lines have been emphasized at both the front and rear. Together with details such as a wider grille and daylight running lights, they give the S60 a striking, planted presence.
The S60 offers an extended wheel choice with a variety of designs that increase the personalization possibilities for customers. To enhance the visual appeal of the car, it is possible to specify the S60 with expressive 18-inch wheels without compromising comfort.
Refined interior
Scandinavian design is exemplified by beautiful, simple shapes and surfaces with any unnecessary clutter removed. This is evident in the S60 interior and exterior. Inside, the attention to detail, the authentic materials - such as wood and leather - and the easy-to-use controls contribute to the in-command driving experience.
Comfortable sport seat
Supportive yet comfortable seats that ensure a fresh and relaxed arrival after the longest of journeys have been one of Volvo strengths for decades. The buyer of the S60 can specify a sport seat that retains this traditional comfort and makes a perfect addition to the in-command feel of a true driver's car. It has great hugging side support all the way from the thighs to the shoulders, so the seat keeps the driver firmly in position when cornering at speed.
SENSUS
Adaptive Digital Display
The Adaptive Digital Display uses an active TFT (Thin Film Transistor) crystal display to bring the driver personalized information. There are three themes to choose from: Elegance, Eco and Performance.
SAFETY AND SUPPORT
IntelliSafe, Volvo's blanket name for all active safety systems, is an important part of the driver-centric approach in the S60.
City Safety - active up to 50 km/h
The S60 features the upgraded City Safety system. This system is active at speeds up to 50 km/h. The car automatically brakes if the driver fails to react in time when the vehicle in front slows down or stops - or if the car is approaching a stationary vehicle too fast.
Side Impact Protection System – SIPS rapidly swings into action in the event of a side impact. It reduces the effect of the crash by taking away the impact from the occupants and distributing it to the body of the car. Also, the dual chamber side airbags spring up instantly to cocoon the occupant’s chest and hip, while the discharged inflatable curtain (IC) protects the heads of both front and rear outboard occupants.
Whiplash Protection – In case of a rear impact, WHIPS operates by cradling the front occupant to severely reduce neck injuries. The WHIPS equipped seat is outfitted with a metal piece that absorbs the energy from the collision and moves together with the occupant, while the headrest reclines to further lessen the effect of the crash.
Air Quality System – The air objective is to make the environment inside the cabin cleaner than the air outside. This includes the air entering via the climate system as well as the emissions from the materials inside the cabin. Volvo Cars has developed two systems, Interior Air Quality System (IAQS) and Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP), to cover this area.
· IAQS monitors the quality of the incoming air and automatically closes the air vents if the levels of harmful substances become too high. A multi-filter removes particulates and pollen but also uses a layer of active charcoal to remove odours and ground-level ozone. The system automatically closes the air vents, for example, when driving through a tunnel.
· The CZIP technology ensures that the air in the car is automatically vented out within one minute from the time the car is unlocked with the remote control. The CZIP system is recommended by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association.
Personal Car Communicator – The Volvo PCC is an advanced pocket-sized control centre which holds valuable security information for the owner about the car's current lock and alarm status. It uses the latest remote smart key technology and a highly sensitive heartbeat sensor, a world first, to detect if an intruder is present in the car.
When in range (up to 100m) the PCC shows if the car is locked, if the alarm is activated or if the alarm has been triggered and whether someone is actually in the car. The PCC also includes keyless entry and keyless drive.
