“MAKE IN INDIA” CONCEPT BY MODI GIVES HOPE TO HEALTHCARE SECTOR


Chennai, 3rd July 2015: Present day Healthcare sector faces many problems related to Medical research and new infrastructural development. Dr. KM Cherian, Chairman & CEO, Frontier Lifeline Hospital, met the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi at his residence and briefed him about difficulties faced by the healthcare sector, especially in the area of research. Major issues raised were difficulties arising from approval processes, problems related to single window clearances for SEZ and difficulties arising from long gestation period which discourages private players from starting Basic Medical Research projects in this country. Dr. Cherian also emphasized the need to attract foreign investment to improve the infrastructure in Medical research as well as the need for Medical villages rather than Medical cities.
Hon'ble Prime Minister informed that he would look into all these areas to “MAKE IN INDIA” concept a reality and success in Medicine.
