GJEPC presents 7th edition of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW 2017) on 23rd-24th September





Mumbai, 26th September, 2017: Bollywood actresses Kriti Sanon, Bhumi Pednekar, Vaani Kapoor, Yami Gautam, Dia Mirza, Shamita Shetty and Rouble Negi unveiled a stunning collection of amazing jewellery to dazzle the packed hall at St Regis Hotel, Mumbai. The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), apex body of the gems & jewellery sector, presented the 7th edition of the India International Jewellery Week (popularly known as IIJW) powered by GIA (Gemmological Institute of America); co-partnered by Forevermark and Platinum Guild International on 23rd and 24th September 2017 at St. Regis, Mumbai. IIJW 2017 was a BY INVITATION exclusive annual event to showcase or launch enticing jewellery collections. Bright Outdoor Advertising is the Outdoor Partner. Mr. Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman, GJEPC, inaugurated IIJW 2017 in the presence of Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Hon. Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis; Ms. Nirupa Bhatt (Managing Director – GIA in India & Middle East), Mehul Choksi (Chairman, Gitanjali Group) and Shailesh Sangani (Convener, Promotions, Marketing & Business Development - PMBD, GJEPC).

Mr. Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “In sync with the Prime Minister’s vision of showcasing the best of Indian creativity and craftsmanship to global customers, IIJW is an initiative to showcase the finest in indigenous Make In India jewellery. Be it design or innovation, or top-of-the-line craftsmanship, technology and quality, Indian jewellers are comparable to the best in the world. The most renowned of Indian jewellers will showcase their inspired and admired classic and contemporary jewellery collections to the crème-de-la-crème of Indian society comprising socialites, celebrities, aesthetes, policy makers, trade constituents and influentials amongst others. IIJW is an extravaganza, a celebration and a bonanza for jewellery lovers who can get a sneak preview of the most extraordinary, exquisite and extravagant collections for this festive season.”

The leading retail houses and top designers showcasing their collections at IIJW 2017 powered by GIA (include Nakshatra World, Caratlane, Azva, PC Jewellers on 23rd September; IIGJ Mumbai in association with Izaara by Waman Hari Pethe Jewellers; Surya Golds in association with Swarovski Gemstones; Pallavi Foley presented by Bluestones.com; Mehta & Sons by Narendra Mehta in association with IGI; Laksh Pahuja presented by Gemma & HRD Antwerp, Anmol using Australian Diamonds; Reliance Jewels using Australian Diamonds; C. Taking a bow at the end of the Nakshatra show along with Archana Kochhar and Kriti Sanon was Saurav Bhattacharya, Group President Nakshatra World. Kriti Sanon is the new face of Nakshatra Gili. Making a dramatic entrance to end the show was the popular, Bollywood beauty, Kriti Sanon who looked sensational wearing a splendid, lacy, gold flat necklace, bangle and earrings in yellow/white diamonds, with a centre pendant. 

The grand show opened with the very dynamic and graceful Sandip Soparrkar, ace dance expert and top model Alesia Raut who enthralled the audience with a stunning salsa and tango. Sandip wore an impressive, giant, diamond collar-cum-pocket brooch, while Alesia dazzled with diamond earrings.

Making a stunning entry to end the Azva show was the very gorgeous Bollywood star Vaani Kapoor, who looked absolutely breath-taking in a gold/diamond sweetheart shaped rigid necklace with triangular earrings, bangles and rings. Taking a bow at the end of the show to thunderous applause was the very happy Vipin Sharma, CEO, Azva.

Walking down the ramp to end the Reliance Jewels show was the popular Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar who looked gorgeous in a wide diamond collar, bracelet, earrings and rings. Walking down the ramp at the end of the superb show were Sunil Nayak, CEO, Reliance Jewels and Tony Huber, Australian Consul General. The outfits for the show were designed by Shehla Khan. The striking, Bollywood, beauty, Yami Gautam closed the Pallavi Foley show wearing a stunning Maatha Paati, vertical earrings,  nose ring and a gorgeous cuff that had all the dramatic touches of creativity by Pallavi. Taking a bow at the end of the successful show to thunderous applause were the very delighted Pallavi Foley and Gaurav Singh Kushwaha, CEO BlueStone.com. Bringing the show to a crescendo was the very beautiful Dia Mirza who looked every inch a glorious bride with a shoulder-to-shoulder scalloped necklace, cocktail ring, long danglers and an elaborate ornate Maatha Patti. Taking a bow at the end of the show was the very dynamic designer of the collection Nupur Vasdev.

Pretty and petit Shamita Shetty made a show stopping entry wearing a dazzling diamond and ruby encrusted necklace in a graduating ‘V’ shape with matching earrings. Taking a bow at the end of the show were Ramesh Shoor, Director, Surya Golds and Rajendra Jain, Managing Director, Swarovski Gemstones India. Ending the utterly glamorous show was famed artist and philanthropist Rouble Negi, who glided down the ramp wearing a gorgeous diamond collar, lavish circular danglers, cuff and cocktail ring. Walking down the ramp after a truly breath taking show were Narendra Mehta, Director, Mehta and Sons by Narendra Mehta and Ramit Kapoor, General Manager, IGI India associates of the show.
