Cera Wb. Washroom Design Challenge Grand Finale






The Grand Finale of the inaugural edition of Cera Wb. Washrooms Design Challenge organised by Washrooms and Beyond Magazine was held on Jan 18, 2018 to felicitate the national winners from the zonal shortlisted winners. It was conceived as an all India washroom design competition for architects and interiors designer aged below 40, the first ever in India to focus only on washroom. Focused on two categories ‘Luxury washroom for residences’ and ‘Washrooms for affordable housing’, 19 participants made it to the grand finale and they were judged by a national jury comprising some of the eminent names in the architecture fraternity in India.



National Jury who adjudged the finalists of the zonal events were renowned architects from the industry Architect Sharukh Mistry, Founder, Mistry Architects, Architect Nitin Killawala, Director, Group Seven Architects & Planners Pvt Ltd.



The finalist winners of zonal felicitations were- Shahen Mistry from Pune, Nikhil Mohan, Mano Kurien Jacob and Sailal S from Kochi, Vaishnavi Bargotra from Chennai, Sarab Marwah from Chandigarh, Kapil Handa and Badrinath Kaleru from New Delhi, Subhodeep Maji and Sumanshree Chamaria from Kolkata, Prajon Nair, Vikram Subbhaih, Shaik Awaze, Antara Basu and Naznin Bora from Bengaluru, Dhananjay Singh and Vijayanthi Rajagopal from Hyderabad, Satabarta Nandy and Jaydutt Vaishnav from Ahmedabad.



The 1st prize winner won a trip to Salone, Milan, 2018 with 3 night’s stay and travel. Mano Kurien Jacob from Cochin won this. The 2nd prize winner in the category of luxury washrooms for residences was Antara Basu from Bengaluru; she won the prize of Rs 50,000. The 3rd prize winner in this same category of luxury washrooms for residence won Rs 25,000 and it was bagged by Subhodeep Maji from Kolkata. Prajon Nair from Bengaluru was given 2nd prize for his designs for washrooms in affordable housing.
