ISKCON50.org

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple,  Kharghar, Navi Mumbai is celebrating its 7th Annual Festival on 8th, 9th and 10th April 2016. The three day festival includes the Maha Abhishek of the temple deities, discourses and lectures and prasadam.
The project of the Temple of Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji started in 2009 with the shilanyas on Gudi  Padwa day . This year it is celebrating its 7th year with an invitation to all its members, donors and residents of Navi Mumbai to participate in the festivities.
The celebration this year is special as ISKCON is Celebrating 50 Golden Years of The Joy of Devotion. Besides the regular temple program, the highlight of the first day of the festivities on Friday 8th April is the “Abhishek” of The Lord at around 11 am by the devotees of all the four temples of ISKCON in Mumbai.
The next day i.e. Saturday 9th April, there will be a special discourse by His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj; the Governing Body Commissioner of ISKCON for all the congregational devotees of the temple in the evening  at 7 pm in the new complex.
On Sunday, 10th of April there will be the Sunday Love feast program in the temple in the afternoon which is open for all its devotees, members and general public. The feast consists of the lecture by His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj at 1 pm in the afternoon which will be followed by sumptuous prasadam for all.
The project has now finally taken its shape and has already become a major center of attraction for the people of Navi Mumbai.  The temple which is spread over 9 acres of land, has a multistoried guest house for visiting devotees and tourists and a fully air conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 1008 people for cultural activities.
Besides this, it will also have an Ayurvedic spa and Bhakti Vedanta College and Library that will impart ancient Vedic knowledge.  The temple has  three magnificent alters of Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji and Radharani, Sri Sri  Gaur – Nitai  and  Lord Sri Ram, Sita , Laxman and Hanuman.  Another attractive feature is the Dashaavtar that are located amidst landscaped gardens.  However, what makes this Temple unique is the temple dedicated to Lord Vithoba and Rukmini. Besides all this there will be many spiritual; and cultural programs offered to the general public that will be based on the teachings from our Vedic literature. Little wonder then that this project has been named – ‘Glory of Maharashtra – a Vedic Educational and Cultural Center’which is the pride of Navi Mumbai.

On the occasion of its 7th Anniversary, the Temple President HG Sura Das Prabhu, along with the resident devotees has extended an invitation to all the residents of Navi Mumbai to participate whole heartedly in the celebrations and receive the blessings of Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohanji and Srila Prabhupada along with sumptuous prasadam for all.  It is also an opportunity to see the progress of the temple project which is now under construction. The people visiting the temple can see the project and also contribute towards its speedy completion. Once complete, it will be the pride of Maharashtra and a very prominent land mark in Navi Mumbai Maharashtra and India.
