SBI Pinkathon Mumbai 2015 successfully completes its fourth edition run with more than 10000 women participants

Ltd. under the aegis of United Sisters Foundation, saw women across age groups and from all different strata of society participating in the multi-category run to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for women & issues like bone health and breast cancer
Mumbai, December 13, 2015: SBI Pinkathon, empowering Indian Women, an initiative to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for women and issues like breast cancer & bone health, successfully concluded fourth edition in Mumbai at R2, MMRDA Ground, BKC, on Sunday, December 13, 2015. More than 10000 women across age groups and from all different segments of the society participated enthusiastically in the 3 km, 5 km, VOLINI 10 km and 21 km categories. Flagging off the run was super-model, actor, fitness enthusiast, avid barefoot runner and Pinkathon founder Milind Soman along with prominent women personalities like, Mrs. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson, State Bank of India, RJ Malishka from RED FM who expressed their wholehearted supported for the noble cause.
The event running in its fourth leg in Mumbai saw eminent personalities present at the event to support the cause.  Some of the noteworthy participants in the run were a group 38 visually impaired girls running the 3KM distance with enthusiasm. Additionally the run witnessed a squad of cancer survivors who participated in 3KM and 5KM distance. Around 25 baby wearing mothers carrying babies just a few months old walked the 3KM distance.  The run had participants as young as 5 months and as old as 79 years.
Commenting on the success of the SBI Pinkathon Mumbai, Milind Soman, Founder Pinkathon said, “SBI Pinkathon, Empowering Indian Women is more than a Marathon. It is the seed of change. SBI Pinkathon powered by Women’s Horlicks – Empowering Indian Women is an international run only for women. The objective of the event is to encourage women’s health and fitness. Pinkathon also aims to raise awareness about breast cancer, its causes and prevention.
