Mayfair Housing joins hands with Habitat for Humanity India to provide housing for poor
- First such initiative post vision statement by Prime Minister, Mr. NarendraModi.
- To contribute Rs. 100,000 for each unit sold.
Mumbai, Thursday, October 2nd, 2014: Taking its commitment to the development of quality affordable housing a step further, Mayfair Housing Pvt. Ltd. today announced an association with Habitat for HumanityIndia, a worldwide NGO working towards providing housing for the poor. The Memorandum of Understanding between Mayfair Housing Pvt. Ltd. and Habitat for Humanity India was signed by Mr. Nayan A. Shah, Managing Director and CEO, Mayfair Housing and Mr.Rajan Samuel, Managing Director, Habitat for Humanity India.
The agreement signed between Mayfair Housing and Habitat For Humanity India is a part of the CSR activity undertaken by Mayfair Housing under which they will contribute Rs. 100,000 from every unit sold at any of its projects over a period of one year from the date of signing of the agreement. Habitat for Humanity India would utilize the funds generated to provide a decent shelter to families in need and support in the state of Maharashtra. The funds will be accumulated by Habitat for Humanity India and will be utilized to undertake a project in the state of Maharashtra with a minimum unit size of 50 over a period of 8 to 12 months post the receipt of the contribution to be made by Mayfair Housing.
Speaking at the signing Mr. Nayan A. Shah, Managing Director and CEO, Mayfair Housing Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are delighted to join hands with Habitat for Humanity in their drive towards providing housing for the poor in India. This is our response to the clarion call given by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr. NarendraModi for housing for all in India. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two is the first in the country post the Independence Day speech of the Prime Minister, Mr. NarendraModi, where he defined his vision for the country and laid emphasis on his dream of housing for all. The agreement between the two organisations kick starts a partnership which will aid in the development of those who are in dire need of a roof over their heads and thereby reduce the proliferation of slums across the urban centres in the State.
