AstaGuru Hosts The 5th Edition Of Its Modern and Contemporary Art Auction

August 29, 2014: AstaGuru.com, one of India’s largest online auctioneers of art is hosting the fifth edition of its Modern and Contemporary Auction featuring some of the rarest and most exciting artworks from various parts of India. AstaGuru.com will auction 83 lots of exclusive artworks of Indian Modern Masters such as M.F.Husain, S.H.Raza, F.N.Souza, Ram Kumar, Sakti Burman, Krishen Khanna, Akbar Padamsee and Contemporary Artists like Justin Ponmany, Milburn Cherian and Baiju Parthan.

The stunning work of S.H Raza titled ‘Bhoomi’ acquired from a private collection in Delhi is expected to rise in crescendo with an estimate of Rs 4,00,00,000 – 6,00,00,000 (US$ 689,655 – 1,034,483). ‘Mother and Child’ by F.N Souza acquired from Gallery One in London that was previously from the Adler family collection is expected to be sold at Rs 1,75,00,000 – 2,00,00,000 (US$ 301,724 – 344,828) while ‘Noel’, S.H Raza’s rendition of the French countryside inspired by ‘constructions’ of Cezanne, is valued at Rs 1,75,00,000 – 2,00,00,000    (US$ 301,724 – 344,828) and is expected to reach new heights.

The auction will start on Sunday, September 7 at 10:30 am and shall be concluded on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 09.30pm IST. Interested buyers can view the lots on AstaGuru.com and can get bidding access by registering online after reviewing the terms and conditions listed by the organization. Accounts will be activated and bidders can participate in the auction as soon as the screening process is completed.
