Help slum women be self-reliant while you shop

this festive reason!

Navaratri special exhibition put up by small scale women

entrepreneurs to earn with dignity

Mumbai 19th Sept, 2014: Come Navaratri and devotees hail the all-powerful goddess, an

epitome of the female strength! However, what we really do for women in their quest for

respect or to help them live and earn with dignity? Here’s your ultimate chance to contribute

your bit towards women empowerment while gearing up for Navaratri celebrations. Be a part

of The Shop & Assist initiative and make a difference in their lives.

Indulge in beautiful Navaratri collection, reflecting the colours of vibrant Gujarat, brought to

you by small scale women entrepreneurs from neighbouring slums. Adharika Samaj Vikas

Sanstha, Kandivali, a part of the government’s Bachat Gat Yojana, assists numerous poor

women artisans and entrepreneurs to procure livelihood with a sense pride. The revenues are

further circulated to help more such entrepreneurs to work and earn.

The Sanstha has brought the best of a kaleidoscopic Gujarat through traditional attires,

trinkets, garba apparels, décor and everything fancy under one roof. Visit Adharika Samaj

Vikas Sanstha’s exhibition organised at Growel’s 101 Mall to brighten up a few lives this

festive season. The stall will be put up from September-19 to October-2, opposite Big

Bazaar, at the mall.

Gopal Shetty, Member of Parliament from Mumbai-North Lok Sabha Constituency,

inaugurated the exhibition on Friday in the presence of Ms Ruchi Mane who spearheads the

Sanstha. Also present on the occasion was Mr. Rajiv Bhatia, COO, Retail & Real Estate,

Grauer & Weil (India) Ltd.

“It’s an irony that women in India still struggle to earn a livelihood with dignity when we

revere The Almighty in a female form. Let’s come forward to assist these small scale

entrepreneurs in being self-reliant. We take pride in being associated with the cause and

look forward to support it in future as well,” said Mr. Bhatia.

Ruchi Mane said that it is just a beginning. “The initiative will help these women to be

financially independent and be confident entrepreneurs. We anticipate people to come

forward and assist them in leading a better life,” she said.
