93.5 Red FM’s CSR initiative associates with The Max Foundation

Mumbai, 14 July 2014 – 93.5 Red FM, for their CSR initiative ‘Bajao for a Cause’, associated with The Max Foundation this time. ‘Chai for Cancer’, started by The Max Foundation, aims to help people undergoing the often long and expensive treatment for cancer, by hosting Chai Addas, wherein a cup of tea costs Rs. 100, and the proceeds go towards the welfare of cancer patients.

93.5 Red FM has taken up this cause, with their RJs talking about the unique concept of Chai Addas and asking people if they would like to sip a cup of chai for the cause. They have invited call-ins and smses, from individuals and associations alike, to contribute to this cause. To pledge, people can sms RED <space> BAJAO <space> their name to 58585.

To amplify this exercise, Red FM has put up hoardings across the city. They have tied up with prominent chai-wallahs across Mumbai, wherein customers have the option of contributing to ‘Chai for Cancer’. Volunteers from Red FM and The Max Foundation are speaking to the customers and making them aware of the cause.

Last Friday, Red FM organized one of these Chai Addas at their office, with RJs and listeners.

Speaking on the initiative, RJ Malishka of Red FM says, “Bajao for a Cause allows us to sensitize the listeners to various causes that need support. Cancer, as an ailment, has several misconceptions associated. To clear the most common, it is mostly curable! I particularly empathise with Chai for Cancer, because it is such a simple means of supporting patients through their walk to treatment and , hopefully, recovery.”
