Going retro for Tigmanshu

Going retro for Tigmanshu
Vidyut Jammwal seen sporting a bearded, long haired look for his next, modelled over Robert De Niro and Al Pacino's yesteryear looks

Looks like we have another actor joining the list of Aamir, Shahrukh, Ranbir and Ranveer who've take look authenticity to the next level  : and that's none other than our young action hero Vidyut Jammwal

Known for his fab bod and his incredible action, VJ was recently seen sporting a long hair and bearded look. It is believed that the young actor is doing this on instruction of his director Tigmanshu Dhulia, for his next : Yaara, a period gangster drama that has a friendship story at its core that starts shoot later this month.

"Vidyut has been asked to research every nuance of a character set in the 70s : from the look to the wardrobe and mannerisms. Known to be someone who charts his own course, He's been quite detail oriented working closely with Tigmanshu on how to present the perfect Yaara look. Tigmanshu and Vidyut have shared a great rapport working on Bullett Raja where Tigmanshu even gave Vidyut a free hand to design and develop his own action sequences. With Yaara too, both have been having a great time sharing notes not just on the action but also on the look for the film in consultation with producer Sunir Khetarpal. They've both collectively chosen two core references that they plan to work around : Robert De Niro and Al Pacino from their days in the late 70s" says an insider source.

De Niro's lush long hair look that he sported at the 1981 Oscars and Pacino's slick Godfather look is what the two essential references are. To ensure that the two looks are well represented within the spectrum to Vidyut's character evolution, Tigmanshu has asked Vidyut to grow his hair and beard for the initial schedule and then maintain the slick back look for the rest.
