India becomes the first Indian plastics trade fair to be accreditated by UFI
Plastivision India Awards
held in Mumbai to honor achievers in the Plastic Industry.
MUMBAI,
31st March 2014: UFI, the Paris based Global Association of the
Exhibition Industry has granted full membership to Plastivision India
in the category of “Exhibition Organizers”. Plastivision India is now the first Trade Fair Exhibition
focused on Plastics industry from India to be accreditated by UFI and
the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) is the first
Plastics Association to be granted full membership in the category by the UFI.
Plastivision India,
a global scale trade fair organised by AIPMA once every three years was held
last in December 2013 in Mumbai with over 100,000 trade professionals from over
30 countries participating in the 5-day event. Over 1200 exhibitors displayed
the world’s cutting-edge technologies, processes and products from 20
countries such as China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy,
Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, Sharjah, UAE, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand,
Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.
“This is a great
recognition from world renowned UFI for Plastivision India. This not only recognises our
stringent processes and the overall quality of the event, but it will also make
more overseas participants confident and eager to participate in our future
events.” said Mr. Raju Desai, Chairman of the National Executive
Committee of Plastivision India 2013 at the glittering awards ceremony held to
honour and commemorate the achievers in the plastic industry.
The awards were handed
out by luminiaries such as Mr. Indrajit Singh, Secretary DCPC, Government of
India, Mr. Harsh Mariwala, Chairman, Marico Industries Limited and Prof. N C
Saha, Director and Principal Executive of the Indian Institute of Packaging.

Murarka, Co-Chairman
of the National Executive Committee of Plastivision India 2013, commented,
“Plastivision India 2013 was a great show put up by AIPMA. Perhaps, the
UFI accridation is a consequence of initiatives that we took on behalf of
Plastics industry. The Green Pavilion and other theme pavilions on role of
plastics in medical care, agriculture, auto segments, etc. highlighted the role
of the plastics industry in an impactful manner.”
UFI is the association of the world’s leading
tradeshow organisers and exhibition centre operators, as well as the major
national and international exhibition associations. UFI’s main goal is to
