'Blindness Ki dandi gull' has begun its first innings



The launch was graced by the presence of Ms Disha Vakani and Mr Asit Modi the lead actress and director respectively of Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah. Lata Subraidu- the first Lady District Governor of RI. Dist 3140 and Rohini Khadilkar- India's chess champion (Arjun Award winner) and editor of Sandhya Kal.
Broad and Wide advt. agency launched their event Social Hero Champion's League with a press conference at Orchid Hotel, Vile Parle from 3 pm to 5 pm. Social Hero is an inter college cricket tournament supporting the cause of eye donation in association with Rotary Club, Nostrum Jeans, Tarun Mitra Mandal and 10 eye banks in Mumbai.
The launch had an auspicious beginning with the Ganesh stuti performance by Asta Shetty who is the winner of the All India Bharatnatyam competition. Mr. Dhiraj Shah gave an inspirational speech expressing his passion in the cause of eye donation and his hope that the cause will appeal to students through the universal language of cricket.
This event saw attendance by Disha Vakani and Asit Modi from Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah, Rohini Khadilkar- India's chess champion and editor of Sandhya Kal, Mr Raj Nawani- MD of Nostrum Fashion Pvt. Ltd., Mr Balraj Kalwani- Director of Nostrum Jeans, Mr. Vineet Sinha a fast bowler, Mrs Lata Subraidu- the first Lady District Governor of RI. Dist 3140, Lakshmi Chand Charla- President of Wagad development board, Mr. Dhiraj Shah- Founder of Broad and Wide advt. agency and the captains of the participating teams.

Disha Vakani- played her role from 'Tarak Mehta ka ooltah chasma' - "If I had ten heads I would have donated 20 eyes to 20 families which would bring light to darkened lives of blind people"
Asit modi(Director, Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah)- "Being here and listening to the views of dignitaries of different fields on eye donation was great. The Broad and Wide team has raised their bar this time by involving the youth in the social cause of eye donation."
Lata Subraidu- the first Lady District Governor of RI. Dist 3140-"Rotary would never fall back to help a social cause such as eye donation. I would thank Mr. Dhiraj Shah who initiated this event with great zeal."
Mr.Raj Nawani- MD of Nostrum Fashion Pvt. Ltd.-"Any social cause is incomplete without the involvement of youth, and Nostrum has always supported youth and social cause going hand in hand."
Rohini Khadilkar- India's chess champion and editor of Sandhya Kal- “I personally think that it is an excellent way to involve youngsters in a social and noble cause like eye donation. I would like to request all teams to put extra effort not only to win this beautiful trophy but also spread word on eye donation”
 Lakshmi Chand Charla- President of Wagad chovisi -"I am really glad to witness this event as it is the 1st time someone has thought of eye donation so seriously and taken a firm step by involving the youth through cricket as it is the religion and culture in India."
Viren Jethwa (Cricket in charge) - “This is the right platform for budding cricketers wherein they will play professionally with a social cause in mind. The association with Broad and Wide is going to be bring fruitful result to all the players”
Dhiraj Shah-Founder of Broad and Wide advt. agency -“It is a very proud moment for me as people from different fields have registered their presence in this campaign for the social cause of eye donation. Finally, I would thank my team, who worked day in and day out since the last 6 months to make this event a success.”
The aim of this cricket tournament is to appeal to the youth through cricket and spread awareness about eye donation. Our vision is to see this become a mass movement for eye donation. We intend to repeat this event for a noble cause every year.
